For those bashing on the Angry Joe or IGN review

The problem with these reviews is they want to review an mmo game like a standard single player game and you can't. MMO's like defiance needs to be reviewed in 30 days not a week like most single player linerar games. Due to the fact of bugs and tech issues.

IMO IGN lost all credibilty over the Skyrim debacle for the PS3 when you hit a certain save point in MB saves the games goes to bloody HELL!!!! IGN gave Skyrim a 10 without knowing the gamebreaking bug existed lol. Never went back a corrected the score.

Defiance as is IMO is a 8 tops not bad, not average, not great just plain old good and fun. This is why gamesites like IGN I only go there for gaming news around the industry. I've been playing video games since 1980 so I have over 20 years of gaming exp. I trust my judgment.

likei said, there is nothing in his reviews which aren't previously existing popular opinions.

it's not that he's spot on, it's that he's good at paraphrasing what people have saidover and over again for weeks before his videos get to post.

and that's because that's literally his business model. he and people like him simply pander to popular opinion so that fans like you and OP will make threads like this one where you argue that he's spot on and full of integrity and really knows his ****.

i guess if you live under a rock and only get your game info spoon fed to you by people like him, then you wouldn't notice that literally everything these guys say is nothing new or of interest.

Means something if it's the majority's opinion. And I wouldn't say Angry Joe ''knows nothing'', I would say I don't agree with his opinion and that's my right, just like it's his right to have whatever opinion he wants. We're not all savages you know ?

Where did he avoid talking about the good parts of the game ?

He pointed out the VAST amount of glitches ( true )
Said the UI was clunky on PC ( true )
Said the game felt like a shadow of what it could be ( true )
Said there is not much content for a MMO ( true )
He pointed out the repetitive nature of the PvE ( true, but that's basically true for all MMOs...maybe it would be less dull if there was actually more than 4 types of arkfalls... )
He said there were hackers ( I think?, and true )
Said he kept playing it even with the glitches because the gameplay and combat are good (true)

I am probably forgetting stuff.

I don't see what was wrong with that review, honestly... It's a review, it is subjective by nature... It's not news... He's not reporting a fact, he's reporting his opinion about the game and if people had half a brain, they would listen to the review and make their own opinion... But the review he made is exactly the game I played, so I don't know why everyone is going around bashing his review...

One has to remember that these critics are basically payed to give their personal opinions, so take them with a grain of salt. Yeah a lot of other posters on here have made the same points that I am about to make. These people obviously played only a very short amount of time and for most games that is fine, but for an ever-evolving MMO that is not only unfair, but close-minded, short-sighted, and foolish. That is something that most of the players who complain on this forum do not understand. They believe that playing a day, week, or even three weeks is enough time to make an intelligent judgement of an MMO and it is not. Am I completely satisfied with Defiance? With the start of the series I can honestly say no, I do not like the episode "pursuits" I wanted and believed that there were going to be more interactive "missions;" however, I understand something that most of these small-minded people and a few of those critics do not. MMO's can change dramatically within the first year of the release.

So this is your opinion, on other peoples opinions on yet other peoples opinions on a product? Ok. Just checking.
Perhaps people should rely less on other people validating their own opinion.

Or the fact that most players and reviews find it to be mediocre or just downright bad.

Interesting, if you check those, USERS like more than reviewers, so maybe its time for IGN and Angry Joe to get the **** out? Maybe its you guys who need the head-check. As a long time MMO-veteran and gamer, I thikn its really IGN and AO. Peace.

Btw, all this IGN and AO stuff is getting very boring...

If reviews were factual and not opinions and ignorance presented as facts I might care about them but they aren't. Then there is the fact that they play an MMO for 10 hours and act like they've played the game enough to tell others how it works which is ridiculous.

For example in the angry joe review he was like what, 250ish ego when he was at the monolith? That means he barely did anything in the game apart from the main missions and ignored everything else in the game.

Poo-poo any individual reviews you like. Consensus on Metacritic among reviewers is the game is an embarassment after the Rift launch.
