Resolution issue on PS3 version

The game runs at 720p. Display settings on my PS3 are set to 480p (cannot be disabled) and 1080p. Defiance automatically defaults to the lower resolution of 480p rather than scaling up to 1080p.

The reason for setting 1080p only is because I use a 16:10 (1920x1200) LCD set to 1:1 aspect. To correct the issue I can switch my LCD to full aspect (fill) and enable 720p on the PS3 but this stretches 16:9 onto a 16:10 screen making everything look taller/skinny.

The game needs to allow for 1080p output but scale the graphics back to 720p, like the majority of 720p games do.

wonder that too... downloaded it last night around 1 pm... went to go play it today and its telling me the same that the servers are being worked on

It's telling me the service isn't there yet.

u can see its running in 480p in the main menu u aint got to be playing to see it but it might just be the menu guys lets not worry till servers go live =]

What if that is just for the main menu?

Probably because your account has yet to be linked to the beta. If you can't post there, then wait till you can.

No, if you would pay attention to the top threads in this forum, you would notice that the NDA lifts on March 22nd not today.

Don't telling them, let them get ban from testing. See that i said testing and not playing. There is a difference. Playing is doing what ever testing requires a little bit of reading to understand the rules that govern it Like the actually date of the NDA being lifted.

Back on Topic. Most games actually upscale to keep up with the 1080p, rather than downscale to 480p

Correction, Most TV's Upscale 720p to 1080p or at least 1080i when they see an HD connection.

Right, that's because TV's run at 16:9. I'm running on a PC LCD with 16:10 which I'm sure many people do. Also, I don't have access to the beta forums.
