Also I remember going to fanime in san jose
<----- HUGE Anime Fan....
I've pretty much, like, seen them all! except for some of the more recent ones...Haven't had much time for animes recently :(
My Fav. Anime of all time?
Basilisk: The Koga Ninja Scrolls
.....a master piece. The saddest anime of all time? A must watch for all Anime fans...
I went to a anime convention in my state as Misa from Death Note
I prefer the more story driven animes like:
1. Elfenlied ( sadest piece of movie history for myself ;> )
2. Code Geass (has it's moments even if you're dislike the whole mecha thing it's still great and on pair with death note)
3. Death Note ( a bit overhyped but still very thrilling at least until "that" moment)
4. Fate stay night/Fate zero (just epic even with the loli content in the second season^^)
5. Bleach ( I just like the wicked characters: - Mayuri/Kenpachi/Hichigo, they're clearly fun)
6. Black Lagoon (german voice acting was sooooo good there, even if it's normally really bad ^^)
7. Full Metal Alchemist Brootherhood (way better than the first one)
8. Samurai Champloo (funny as hell)
9. Monster (really sick and surprisingly long for such an complex and story driven anime)
10. Full Metal Panic ( One word: Poooooonnnny!!1 xDD )
Okay a few of those are not really story driven but most of them are. (6 and 10 not)
Must admit, it was a middle school/high school friend of mine that got me into it. It was one of the first shows of that type that I can remember watching where lead characters were being wiped out...without apology lol. I wasn't a part of the fan club (do I need to turn in my fan card? :( ) but I do remember having the collectable book that was out at that time (though it felt more like an encyclopedia) and still have the first few dvd box sets (which I still need to complete). He also got me into Bubblegum Crisis and both of us played the hell out of the old Fist of the North Star sega game. I'll never forget the first time I saw that one, and Rei starts filleting people with his fingers, my eyes got really big, I chuckled, and instantly knew I was hooked.
We'd get together at lunch time and go over game ideas/strategies and talk about the animes we were watching at that time.
He could draw exceptionally well and I, at that time, was pretty mean with putting stories together. We had a notebook that he'd draw in and I'd collaborate with him on character bio's and backstories. Street Fighter, and arcades in general, were huge back then and we'd head out to the nearest arcade (either the pier or the one on the base where you could get six credits for a quarter) and just run people. Between the two of us, we hardly ever lost lol. Like you said in your post..."Ah, the good ol' days." Good times indeed.
Sorry about the nostalgia derail but again, you've brought back (happy) memories that I had long since forgotten. For that I sincerely thank you.
Yeah, hate me i'm necroing.

I would have expected more people to post in here seeing quite a number of people using anime pictures as their Avatar.
Good god I have watched too much anime to list them all. I watch just about all genres as well. I read a lot more manga than watching anime. I suppose I could list SOME current anime I am watching and SOME magnga/manhwa I am reading:
Anime:
Hataraku Maou-sama!, Valvrave the Liberator, Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai kara Kuru Sou Desu yo?, Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou, Gintama
Manga/Manhwa:
Bleach, Naruto, The Breaker: New Waves, Beelzebub, Gamaran, One-Punch Man, Magician, Tower of God, Girl The Wild's, Sun-ken Rock
They should make breaker new waves in to a anime! As for anime i have seen way to much to list. if you like fighting i would suggest Hajime no Ippo it will give you hours of watching then there is Kenichi history's strongest disciple is good for a laugh, and sword art online is good as well.
I crew up watching Digimon and Pokemon.
But now as adult
Digimon
Fullmetal alchemist
Yeah they should animate a lot of manhwa. SO many good ones. The Hajime no Ippo manga is a bit stale. It has fallen into 13 page releases involving a bunch of filler scenes, but the anime is a little better. I'd say History's Strongest Disciple is a better watch/read. And of course SAO has gotten lots of praise. (I've actually only seen 2 episodes of the anime O_O)
I'm an anime fan not going to bother listing the ones I've seen or the ones I'm watching it would be an extremely long list suffice to say my Xbox GT is proof of it TsukunexMoka.
After watching some anime, one of my friends friends...just turned to me and said so your an otaku? I was like wtf? I am? I don't read manga though. Mainly cuz i don't have the money to buy/order them, my friend said to just read them online, but if I'm on the computer I'm playing a game XD
My Xbox GT is Duskky if anyone wants to add me c:
Mine is Archer.. Oh wrong kind of cartoon lol.. I always liked Dragon Ball Z never really got into any other.
Outlaw Star was the only anime I super got into and I've yet to find one I love enough to top it.
That anime has my favourite anime opening of all time.
When stuff is happening on the screen it keeps my eyes busy but when I am reading something I just can't focus and end up distracted. This is sadly the reason I can't watch subs.
