anyone put them to decent use?

do you use them as a Primary or Secondary weapon?

also, is it just me, or does the range on them seem pretty poor?

I use them as secondary weapon (except in PVP) and I love them

Depending on what infector you use, the range can be amazing or awful. Some are so ridiculous that I see people going 20-0 in arena (due to homing range).

They are so crap now it's not even believable. What's worst is the range makes them even more worthless. Only reason I'm using them currently to get the pursuit. After that I don't see a point in using them.

I love infectors favorite gun in the game.

    I had one it was called a " canker " or " kanker " I laughed.

Some infectors have a range of 10, 20, & 40. :) The immunizer is the one with a range of 40, I tend to use them alot. Best way to get kill count in anything. It's a pretty lazy weapon though. The bugs do all the real work. Aha. I love them.

Think an infector would be a good counterpart to a Swarm Cannon?

Depends on play style. I don't use infectors cuz I never have any luck with 'em. I stick with trying to get kills with an LMG or a Courier.

The 40 homing range is ridiculous in Shadow Wars. Like, just plain stupid.

Never understood why people used weapons that let them go "ADURR HURR, HURR, I DON'T EVEN AIM, OR LOOK AT THE SCREEN, ADURRRR!"

On the other hand, the other ones I feel the risk balances well with the benefit. For example, the 10 range of the Canker, and that thing just does obscene damage.

For some reason I don't get the same benefit from infectors. I've tried em out in PvP, but they act like they're a 5 homing range instead of 40-57.

I love infectors! I use them as my secondary weapon for arkfalls or insect based missions. Infector + saw combo usually puts me in the top 3 of arkfall scorecards without much effort. I usually use some form of the Canker. The slowing one seems useless lol

Might as well use a shotgun if you're that close.

As for the immunizer, the 40 homing range infector, aside from a sub-carbine with amazing stat rolls (-.5 ACC and -.3 ACC on the same item) I can't think of any other gun which you can fire repeatedly at a distance while blurring around and accurately hit your target. I'll probably swap out my immunizer once I get a sub-carbine with a nano-effect and good accuracy rolls, but for now, I need a weapon that allows me to keep distance from shotty ***** while still doing reliable damage. A sitting duck is a dead duck in PvP, once I learned that, that's when I started going 20-30+ kills and 8 or less deaths a game consistently in Shadow War.

It used to be that the bugs would 340 damage so it would be an close range snipe hit. Now I can't take down a mutant cleaver. Pic is level 2

Sort of a hit-and-miss type of weapon. You either find a God-like one or an awful one. Not only that, they're EXTREMELY situation dependent weapons. I got a purple one out of a lockbox, and at that point I hated all infectors and though they were ****. Rolled stealth+a flash bang grenade and proceeded to romp in Shadow Wars. Pretty decent in PvE too, but I'm still partial to a bolt-action and a Votan SMG.
