Does anyone have a reason to make an alternate/new character?

I'm just curious if anyone has found any reason to make a new character and if there are people that actually have multiple alts, because right now I honestly can't see a single reason why you would and that is kinda disappointing.

Right now we only have two races to pick from but other than pure looks there is literally no difference between the two and all the choices you make at the start, except for possibly your choice of clothing, can be altered later in the game. There is also no racial bonuses which means that there are no negative or positive sides when it comes to picking your race.

I feel like the largest problem comes with the EGO system because you obviously want to gain as much of it on one character as possible and since you can level up all the different weapons on one character there is simply no reason to split your Pursuits over different characters.

I'd love to hear reasons why you would make an alt at this current time and also ideas for how they can improve the system in the future.

I have 2, and Irathient Mechanic and a Human Survivalist. 7 races came to earth, so far we only have 2 of 8 total

Ps3 users have too if they want to do the story mission again other than that I see no real point but some people just like starting over. Think prestige in cod :-)

My gf just started playing Defiance, so i decided to start an alt to play through with her..using different Ego,weapons,playstyle etc..

I thought of this the other day.

Rep mod boxes. If the item inside is tradable it would give you reason to run the daily/weekly on different characters. Then you could gather mods form rep vendors faster.

I have a "main" for solo play and "alt" for playing with my brother. It's the only way to play missions together. Otherwise the one who already completed the mission gets locked out.
