So if the Mt. Tam contracts have you killing things around Mt. Tam, if you do the emergencies in that area you should be able to earn lets say 5 credits. That way after a few EM runs you can go out and buy a mod or a weapon.

This would draw me into emergencies since they are easier to come across than the actual contracts. Considering i never know where to go to complete them but emergencies can be found all over the place.

I had the same thought. It wouldn't detract from the paid lox boxes, and would at least provide a reason to stop. Currently the weapons available at contract vendors are pretty poor anyway, even the purps. This would also go some way to make those vendors worth a visit.

I do the emergencies if the creeps attack me after a shadow war or an arkfall. It makes me mad when they attack me when im checking out my new loot.

I feel like perhaps the nerf bat was swung a BIT too hard on this one...making them go from 3-4 keys per emergency to none. They have removed any purpose to what for me was one of the more fun parts of the game, flying around on my quad and shooting enemies. I can still do it...but I get a few dozen script, and perhaps a weapon or two to break down...I feel like they are worthless now though.

Why weren't they just changes so they gave 2 keys, or even 1. But to make them junk...come on Trion! You have been MMO Overlording for a while...you know better than this!!

I don't realy bother with them anymore unless its to do with contracts or pursuits. No point in them might as well do co-op maps to get the keycodes. Weapons drop there as well as scrip. As for the lockboxes why would anyone put real money into a RNG and get weapons that can drop from missions and co-op maps anyway? The only time I would ever buy Bits would be for outfits I like and more inventry slots. Might as well farm arkfalls and pvp for keycodes to buy the lockboxes.

Now this is something I'd like to see. Keycodes are pretty pointless for me.

Love it. That way we can still use emergencies to gain gear, and leave the oranges in their lock-boxes.

    Brilliant!!

Nowadays I only do them if I can snipe to increase my weapon XP. No visible mobs, I won't stop.

Fairplay it was a bad move for Trion to cut out the keycodes from emergencies, though i have heard it was/is a bug ingame which has been bandied about on this forum but if someone has a legit trion response saying it was done on purpose then i think they went a bit too far maybe give us 2 keycodes per emergency or give us 5 keycodes per every three emergencies we do.

In Alpha, Emergencies were rewarding with tokens, pretty much like how contracts work. To my knowledge, they were never used. The code exists, they just need to link them to reputation as proposed above. My guess, pure speculation here, is they were originally for Paradise Reputation, since you save their people.

i remember that, getting ego messages about my reputation with a faction going up as i went around doing those little emergencies for a while back then. the reputation makes a lot more sense than the keycodes, since you'd be helping those locals and the word would naturally get around not to mention many of those people would be employed by or members of those factions. you also have a sense of progression with the rep gains, and more control over what you ultimately get out of it wheny ou finally use the rep toward the purchase of gear. I wonder if the rep was actually intended originally, and it'll wind up being implemented sooner or later once other bugs and content are handled. hope so. rep makes total sense.

Heck, with how often they spawn now, I'd be happy with as little as 2 credits per complete. Would also give those people that complain about pvp rep is tied into a pve pursuit.
