The thing with any show is they have to let you get to know the characters first. So theres usually some boring convos, and portrayals before the action starts.........hopefully. Heres to hoping nest weeks hellbug episode will change that pace

1,000 episodes has been done many times over by quite a few shows. The Today Show has over 17,000 aired episodes since it's debut and has been on the air for ~60 years. Hell, Jeopardy has more episodes aired than Raw does.
You can see a list of the US shows here. I imagine there are quite a few from out of the country that have made it past 1,000 as well.
I have to say im finding the show a bit tedious,
I didnt watch live this week but recorded it so I could skip the ads.
I never listened to those kind of tv stuff, but i have to say IM SO ADDICTED right now !!!! cant wait for next monday
Honestly any show that doesn't develop characters enough to make you care about them is garbage. I'm not expecting perfection in the first few episodes however I do think they are doing a good job with the show so far overall. The acting is decent, there's action, and people hate each-other. If you honestly think the first few episodes are going to kill it because it has drama in it then....what is the point of watching it? If you want nothing but action go watch mma or something. Plus look at other shows that have been extremely successful. I guarantee they had a fair bit of character centered episodes in the first season. God just look at lost. Its painful getting through season one but once youre in season two you cant stop yourself and its because of each characters story.
TLDR; Any show without good character drama isnt worth watching in a country that is fairly centered around a bunch of dramatic people...
Defiance wants to be Firefly but doesn't have the writers for it.
It's watchable but very very average.
I like the show personally, the game not so much. I am so sick of the myriad of csi and reality shows, how many times do you have to see a guy pull out a black light to look for **** and blood stains.
The linkage between the show and game is nice, eg, the law keeper's uniform is identical to the one my character is wearing in the game. The landscape looks like the one I am driving around chasing arkfalls, etc.
Do watch the show again and look out for hidden gems.
The show is like a baby now, needs time to grow and mature and I am enjoying it so far. Patience, folks.
I'm pretty sure the thing the old Mayor was on at the end of episode 1 was the same little restaurant/cafe thing where Stahma has the talk with whatsherface about the wedding.
Well those specific ratings come out the day after, so it won't have data of later views. They also look at Live+7 days ratings which include the DVR views up to a week after the episode airs. But my understanding is that advertisers care mostly about the Live+Same Day viewing.
For cable shows it might be a bit different, because many cable stations tend to air the episodes over and over and over. I think the Pilot aired again right after it's original airing, and then again on Tuesday.
I think, for the first season, it was going to be more subtle stuff. Like a Wanted poster in the show could be of a character from the game. And the character would depend on what happens in the game.
Things that they can go back and edit into the show easily.
