Hehe, Actually using a fairly old (2yrs) AMD X4 955 system with 12 gig rams with Nvidia 450GTS until the wife faction improves so I can blow a few grand on two new systems for us. Being she is also a gamer, So I am sure I can con her with some nice shiny new PC parts to let her play her MMO's on.

    Cheers

Not really but it does give my 3x cards more room without bottlenecking them plus i try my best to 60fps ever game which still with the hardware don't always work.If i would have stuck with my 920 i would have to overclock it higher or else lose some fps and always read x79 platform is good for tri-sli so i went that route.I still get problems keeping 60fps but that's only during arkfalls the lowest i drop to is like 38fps but keep in mine it's only using one card and this one card is pushing 1440p.

Seriously I think I wasted 3 years of my life playing Wastelands, before ECA became the devil known as EA lol.

Old school EA was innovative and put out some good games. Now they're the devil as you said.

I would suggest not just going to Best Buy or Fry's and or microcenter and "buying a complete box" i would suggest building your own it is very easy. Here is a list of the most simple things you would need to have a pretty decent gaming "rig" so to speak that wont eat your lunch.

    1. A Decent tower that has say 8 drive slots (bays)
    2. A 850 Watt Power Supply
    3. A I5 to I7 motherboard
    4. A Processor at least 2.5 ghz quad core.
    5. 8 Gigs of Memory is all you really need for any game.
    6. A Video Card with at least 2 to 4 gigs of memory on it. (you could use dual crossfire but most games cannot handle it)
    7. Just get 2 hard drives that are 500 gigs each that are SATA 1 for your main drive 1 for file storage etc.

    8. As for a Monitor i would suggest getting a TV instead that is flat screen (do not get a plasma) i had purchased a 24" flatscreen Poloroid from Target that has DVI and HDMI hookups so its the same. at half the cost as well. I was using dual monitors a while back but i wanted to get a display that combined both my flat screen monitors so opted for a flatscreen tv instead.

Now if you shop correctly you should get everything above for about $800 to $1000 total give or take.

Just so you know, just about any new built system running a single GPU Only needs a 550w PSU at max. Also a spinpoint F3 HDD is recommended, they generally have faster boot times. Just make sure its a 500g Platter and youre good to go ( their TB drives are usually 2x 500g platters, so you can go higher ).

Also for a monitor, getting a TV is a bad idea. Any decent monitor will always look better then any HD TV you can buy just for the pixel ratios.
