In my humble opinion, Defiance, it's storyline, (via the SyFY Channel) could have made this game a fantastically immersive shooter on the PC. Actually that's what I thought I was buying.

Defiance....Where exactly is this Defiance? How in the world can you make the Defiance game without....what it is named after...the town Defiance???? I think we are talking an integral part of the game that is missing.

I almost wish they hadn't released Defiance to PC, and I hadn't gotten my hopes this game up. People who play pc games usually CHOOSE to play PC games because of the differences between the platforms, as do those who choose ps3, etc.

I like the precision movements available with a mouse/keyboard, that I never could experiance on a console.

Love the whole premise of Defiance, I love shooters too, just wish it could have been a bit more there, depth wise, on the pc.

The way the second poster suggested factions is actually genius. It gives world pvp without that safety of having to opt in but people that don't want to never have to worry

Even though the social systems in this game could be better, I personally believe the social interaction is bad because there's no reason to group really. The game is mind numbingly easy for the most part. Doing the co-op instance missions, doesn't require any teamwork whatsoever. Every person has the same role, i.e. shoot stuff in the face til it doesn't move. Nobody really needs to pay attention to what's going on. If you die, you have 90 seconds to get revived, or you can just revive yourself.

I may be wrong, but that's what it seems like to me.

I guess the facts that Torc and Cooper (along with Nolan) were part of the Difiant few, that fort Defiance was in San Franciso and that the battle of Defiance took place in the Bay Area.
Did I miss anything you were missing? : o

Sounds right. It's just that we should be able to go to Fort Defiance as well.

It's in the northern part of SF that's blacked out and there seems to be a res point called 'Fort Defiance' already.
Someone managed to get there somehow and posted a screenshot here.

There's a lot of people arguing semantics and genre categories when all you're really trying to say is :


1. Chat functionality, both voice and text, need to be improved significantly.

2 . The game could benefit from more scenarios / opportunities that encourage teaming. As much as people hated the restrictions of combat revolving around "the holy trinity" class system, it creates a necessity to team and be social even to progress.

There needs to be a social area, like what Beck said which was opening up the crater bar. An area to go hangout, vendors, a bank, beer something along that sort of thing. I would also like to see a quest line that leads into a social area if they make one.

Never heard any argument about the chat system, including the devs it all has been a homogeneous 'This is shtako!' from the first day on.

And people in this thread critizise the holy trinity for being considered for a shooter game ... it just makes no ****ing sense ... you said it yourself, 'it creates a necessity'. Ever grinded for materials on a dedicated tank class in any MMORPG? Good times ...

That there could be ... that there are ways to augment the team experience is not what's in question here.

As do I ... I still believe they already have a ton of awesome stuff that's ready to go but has been held because the show just picked up recently and will be released soon enough ... the other side of the coin when it comes to this intermedia experiment.
