    Diablo Daily proof new credit system sucks
    Instead of people that sit afk and get credit for doing nothing.

    We now have a system that enourages players to sit there and do nothing while you do the work to get the event to spawn the blastpods. Then they turn around and kill the blastpods taking all your credit and forcing you to have to repeat the event again. Of course they do not stick around for the monarch phase of the event either.

    I would rather some losers get free crap and a free ride than deal with people who can steal your work.

    Now let us take a look at the alternative.

    So I do the event to get to the phase where the blastpods and hellbug archers spawn. So being a nice guy I simply tag each blastpod. However you know what happens next? Now I have to it through five blast pods and three archers shooting at me waiting for the other player to get his credit. Which usually involves a extraction because with that much shooting at you you end up dead.

    I would rather some losers get free crap and a free ride than die while waiting for someone else to kill off mobs you were forced to tag.

    The diablo daily is the only daily I can think of that has such a pain in the *** problem with the new system. However if the system was fixed than we would not have to repeat this arguement with future content.

    By taking part in the event you get credit for what they kill as well. The "you must contribute to receive reward" rule is general, not mob specific. So by being there, killing things, doing something at all, you all get credit. If they sit back and wait for you to do all the dirty work, they are only prolonging the time they take to get it done.

    No you don't get credit. I did it yesterday 5 times and again today 4 times just to get the damn thing done. There is no shared credit any longer and it's now turning into an every man for himself gameplay style with the patch change.

    Frankly, things like this are starting to turn me off this game. I bought it for an MMO experience not a single player game in a shared world of other single players.

    He isn't talking about credit for the event as such, but credit for completing the contract that requires you kill 15 blastpods there, previously if you were killing a blastpod and a couple of other guys killed the next one along, you would get credit for both blastpods for your contract, now you only get credit for a blastpod you do damage on.

    Yeah, it is very much mob specific now. Instead of just killing anything that comes my way I now have to run around shooting every pod I can find atleast once to get credit for all of them.

    I really preferred the way it was before the patch changed it. This new thing reminds me of WoW dailies too much and I hated doing those.

    Yeah. This daily is poorly thought out with the way credit works.
    You don't even bring up the fact you have to do it about 3 times, which for a daily is pretty dumb.

    What I do is I help with the quest, but when I know the pods are gonna spawn I turn on blur and run around and hit all the pods a couple times, then wait for others to kill it, but I've seen people just fill them as fast as possible.

    It really should just be "Complete the Diablo Station event."

    Yes yes yes! This needs to stop. Seriously I do all the hard work, they tag everything and destroy it while I am fighting off misc crap.

    This system is utter garbage. I've ranted about it in another thread similar to this one. But basically team work is now replaced by soloing. One of the reasons my friends and I used to run in groups is now gone. Just like farming key codes from road events used to be a group activity we tried to pigeon hole into this game. That choice I understood. It made sense the keys were abit too easy to get. But now with this the only reason to group is PvP as most of us have run the current co op maps so many times that most pursuits are complete and there's no longer any spontaneous fun to be had. This game is quickly becoming a single player experience. And if that's the case then ill have to get my multiplayer fix elsewhere I suppse...

    I would like to add that I love this game and franchise. And I have never before openly criticized Trion or Defiance. In fact I'm quite the fan boy of all of it. I just want them to bring back that MMO feeling I had my first couple of weeks. If this change is permanent then I truly hope they have some awesome co op ace up their sleeve to make parties in game more frequent.

    That would be the best solution or something similar to it. There is eight blastpods that spawn during the event. Three in the first phase and five during the fith phase. So even twice would be fine.

    I agree, the new changes make the dailies a lot less fun. Now you have to compete against other players doing the same event when you should be helping each other. It destroys the teamwork aspect of doing events with other people. Change it back to the old system, Trion!

    on the other hand if your grouped with some players you can also gain credit for what they do i tested this out earlyier with a guy in my group he got credit for the blast pods he didnt hit that i killed.

    Also 500th post :)

    I did the quest from 3 runs (6 + 8 + 1). Most problematic part was to scratch pods before other players blast them. Not fun.

    I agree. This new way is stupid and take alot of the fun out the game.

    I like the idea of players helping eachother and having a good time, but this new change tottaly ruins it :0(

    Honestly, I just go in, blast each pod I come across and move on. If there are other people there, ill tag them all then start blasting them. If you cant take them as fast as me...oh well. Im an ******* and I know it. Im also tired of people watching all the damn cutscenes in coops when their ego is 1200+..seriously? you havnt seen this before? ********!

    Ooooh... I thought I wasn't getting credit bcause I was too far... wow I have some apologies to make blasting the pods with my sawed-off... gonna have to read patch notes better too. At least I ran the whole event everytime.

    As a matter of fact, I'm close to ego level 1500 and have just started doing co-ops.

    Also, some of the completion timers seemed to be bugged if you skipped the cutscenes that were before or after them so I got in the habit of not skipping them in case someone in the group still needed that timer. I think they fixed this but it still became a habit. And even though I've seen the hulker cutscene in Soleptor Excavation so many times already, it never gets old for me.

    Agree. I rather have mooching than kill stealing.

    I never did saw any threads complaining about moochers. Why did they (Trion) get their panties in a bunch over that one?

    I am Ego lvl 12xx on Xbox and 29xx on Pc and still haven't done 2 of the coop missions ever. They just suck and are waste of my time with people who use infectors/rocket launchers/pistols as main weapons. ( 30 minutes for 5keys... sure bro) Before ego 1000 I've only done one coop map because nearlly all my buddies left the game after like 3-4 days.

    That's because the 'ESC to exit' function isn't working for everyone. I can't get out of ANY co-op cutscenes at all, despite having been through them several times already. I spam that damned key the whole way through it, and it doesn't exit until it's finished playing.

    I'd rather it take longer than carry someone sitting on the fringes watching me. I do think clans/friends/group kills/damage should count towards your goal.

    I got this contract 2 days in a row since this stupid change. Now I just run around and shoot each blast pod once so I get credit but leave them for others to shoot too.

    Even groups not sharing credit for "tags" is downright stupid. I'm with the OP on this, I'd rather people got a free ride through their daily contracts than have to put up with this nonsense.

    Agreed, it really sucks.. actually had some tool just sit in diablo waiting for me to activate the poison so he could ninja the pods.

    He left pretty much empty handed, but it still annoyed the hell out of me, this change dosnt promote or improve player interaction if anything it drasticly decreases it to the point where I get annoyed if someone enters "my" mission area.

    I agree 100%. I hope Trion changes it back to the way it was previously. It did not bother me if others get credit for doing little, and now doing the contracts is very annoying in a group (and I'm in a group pretty much all the time).

    Shoot every blast post or enemy atleast once..and let the people kill them, you'll get credit for each one you did even 1damage to... Deedeedee kill swift or cry about it alone not in the forums man

    i know PLEASE revert this horrible change. punishing how many players bc a handful AFKed in the area or accidentally got credit driving by? It's ludicrous and makes no sense to me.

    i HATE WoW now bc of the mob competition. games like gw2 spoiled me where cooperation is PAID OFF and don't have to become a slimey ****** that steals mobs. i got really good at being a schtako-face at WoW mob tagging in such a way where the other person got stuck and had to stay and fight. it's grimey but WoW encourages that kinda playstyle and was relieved that this game didn't, and now it does. now it encourages tagging as many as you can while other people are fighting =(

    REVERT PLEASE, i'd rather carry a couple AFK people (who i've yet to see anyway bc if they put the effort to DRIVE ALL THE WAY THERE, i'm sure they will end up fighting with you). maybe did it so people can't AFK keycodes that you can use precious bits on?

    Actually in this case, the solution is for Trion to fix this issue. Because the UNNATURAL way/workaround of playing you have just described is NOT a solution that promotes fun, when the objective of playing a game is for fun. Especially since kill sharing was never a problem in the first place.

    The intention was good but the side effects are bigger than the AFK leechers problem. Now we gonna have many people complaining about kills steal when we just come by to help out.
    I agree, this should be reverted.

    TBH I really don't mind having to do this 2 or 3 times as I'm levelling two weapons whilst I'm there anyway.

    But more to the point, I do think though that if we had an effective chat system we would see a lot more folks grouping together to do dailies like this. I've rarely seen anyone chat and hardly ever had a random grp invite in this game. If you group, you get credit for all the blast pods, not just the ones you damage.

    This change should absolutely be undone. Up until the change one of my favorite features of Defiance was that the game was universally cooperative - no kill stealing, no loot hoarding, everyone could help out (or not) at any time and everyone would benefit.

    Last night, it was very clear that this change fundamentally altered the Daily contracts game play, placing us in direct competition with other players for kills (or forcing us to game the system by tagging but not killing blast pods, as described in this thread).

    This is absolutely NOT a change I am in favor of - please change it back.

    The solution is simple. Switch the contracts back to the old method, but add an AFK flagging system.

    If someone has not moved or fired within 3 minutes then the server should flag them as AFK. Players who are AFK are removed from the list of people that receive credit. The auto-co-op feeling is back, and the moochers are screwed.

    Not for everyone it seems. I was doing this contract with a clan mate in a group early this AM and I didn't get credit for his blastpods and vice versa.
