Yup, initially the show was something to do on the side and maintenance time but now the game is basically done until new content then will get sporadic spikes in player base for a week or two every couple months.
There is nothing MMO about the game as of now its more of a group dungeon crawler. Cant even make groups beyond 4 nor is there anything that takes large group effort to accomplish (including major arks).
Having watched both episodes now, I'm hoping it gets better. The plots seem a little disjointed and I haven't found any of the characters to be particularly likable. That being said though, I find the production work and the acting to be outstanding. Kudos to the crew. Its kind of nice to have something to watch that was actually written and acted by professionals as opposed to the reality TV drivel that permeates the airwaves these days.
I'm not really a scifi nut, so I didn't expect to like the show as much as I did. But I also like it as much as I do because it gives me more to know about the game world.
And the game gives me great gameplay (despite all it's bugs, lack of challenges, 'that chat' and UI that defies QoL) and more information about the wold the show's set in.
In a way the tie in of game and show already worked for me to be honest, simply because you learn more about the made up New Earth in two different ways.
Yes.
I thought it would be the opposite, but my interest in the TV show is growing and I am already bored with the game.
i only watch animation shows or if there is a good comedy or action movie i will watch them aswell but for the rest of tv i refuse to watch any of it
I would have to say that's how it is for me.
And not simply because the show got better (only episode 3 now).
It's cause the game got worse and worse.
the pilot was hard to watch but I thoroughly enjoyed the second show with the whole religion thing, the third episode was also very good, I like where the show is going.
I had high expectations of the game, and low expectations from the show. The show started out as a SciFi hotdog, lots of bits from a bunch of animals all squeezed together. But now I am enjoying it, past two episodes were better than the pilot.
The game, I was expecting alot out of, and it delivered alot of good and bad. Weird choices plague this game (weapon leveling, gear progression, enemy AI [seriously jelly when a raider snipes me from 400 meters away with a smg], ect.), but over all I keep playing and do not have a lack of things to do during my game time. I enjoy the game.
Over all 8/10 game, 8/10 show. Gimme a big patch with a bunch of bug fixes, and an episode where Nolan uses an infector on some Dark Matter, and I'm a happy man.
