A high-damage CQC weapon to the eye, then snipe the tail until the eye becomes available again. That's my general plan of attack.

Also bullets. Lots and lots of bullets. They eat up so. many. bullets.

Scrapper forges are great for skilling up weapons :) Sniping them is no problem as long as you aim for the eye or the glowy stuff on the tail.

My take away from this thread: People really need to learn enemy type names!

The Op mentioned BMG/Detonator as one of his loadouts. I like the BMG for this fight since it locks on to the big yellow eye and/or the tail lights. It also automatically connects to the little guys he sends out after you and kills them without having to take fire away from the main target.

You have to 'kite' the Forge. You can do it with any weapon, but the AR and SAW work really well for this, with a shotgun as a backup. Use electric or Syphon if you have them.

Do not simply back up while shooting at it. Not only do you leave yourself open to the plasma attacks, you'll eventually reach 'leash' range, which is why it runs back. What you want to do is run in circles, and use the terrain to block it from having straight line of sight to you. It makes it more difficult to shoot at you, and gives you time to deal with the nanites and to let your shield regen if you've been hit.

Burn that yellow 'eye' spot when you can. When it's shielded, shoot the yellow spots in the 'tail'. Both locations take more damage and will take crit damage as well. If you actually run out of AR/SMG ammo, you can finish it off with a shotgun or just about anything else.

aim for glowing spots like red eyes or yellow power cells, use cover to you advantage and make sure to dodge and you should be fine. I wouldn't use a sniper rifle for the big guys as reaction times with it are too slow since its a long range weapon, I'd suggest an Assault Rifle or a LMG. good luck =P
