Trion, why so secretive about DLC?
Trion, i understand the whole "gotta fix the bugs first concept" , but why do you feel compelled to not disclose what the new DLC has? Theres alot of speculation and rumors running rampant on the forums with no confirmation for any of it really. Would it not make sense to at least advertise the upcoming DLC to create some excitement and hope for those patiently waiting for new content? It might even bring back some players who left because they felt there wasnt enough in the game. I do not understand the marketing strategy here at all. You have a great game here with huge potential but yet mum is the word when it comes to what you have in store for new content. Can we please get some solid information in regards to new content ? Even if it is much further away from being released I think all the players would love to see whats coming down the pike.
A response from Trion would be appreciated. Thank you.

They probably want to focus on fixing the issues. Like you said though a little sneak peek into the future couldn't hurt and odds are they have the first DLC just about finished if not already and waiting. So with that said, odds are they feel that if they start talking about DLC in the state the game is in that it would cause a whole lot of trouble. People will assume they are done with fixing the bugs and focusing on this new DLC and then start calling the company greedy and blabbering on how they just want your money.

for example Borderlands 2 got some flak for talking about DLC before the game was even released. Not much but still there.

I think the main reason why no discussion or announcements on the upcoming DLC have been made is more due to the arrangement Trion Worlds has with the other stakeholders in the game's production (SyFy and NBCUniversal). Because the game is tied to a television / media property, there may be links to events or information within the DLC which hasn't aired on television yet and by releasing any details of the DLC, it could ruin the investment of their other partner in the game. Since the show has only aired 2 episodes, there is a lot of other stuff that hasn't come to light yet which the DLC's that are already promised may cover; after all, a season is roughly 13 episodes and they're not even a quarter of the way into that yet.

If they feed us details the complaints grow out of increased expectations, moreso if they pull anything before release.

Right now they just have to deal with complaints of zero details, which stirs up interest more than it hurts them.

Also they don't even have a release date. I wouldn't expect details to drop until at least that point.

Check the blog. There's a road map coming soon.

Sounds like they've had a lot more issues than they had anticipated to fix first.

Posting at LEAST something in relation to the DLC would make sense, like is it a newly opened area? A collection of new missions which rewards you some sweet new weapons/vehicles? A whole swath of new co-op maps with paid DLC options tacked on to make things more convienient for the person who paid for the DLC versus the player who bought the game only?

Right now we have no information from Trion and this worries some people and then thier minds run rampant about Trion lying to its playerbase that there is no DLC content on the way just unlocked episodic content and then it'll just go downhill from there, Trion can't afford to do a WarZ thier new IP it would incredibly stupid to do so.

My guess is that it probably is a combination of them not wanting backlash (because I think it's probably not going to be all that people hope) and maybe it would involve spoilers.

Absolutely, if anything keeping quiet until things are practically finalized and at least halfway through testing is the only smart move.

Also the problem is since content is tied in with the show and knownledge of what future content will be leaking ahead of time might contain more than one spoiler, subsequently ruining the TV show for us.
Not that I would really love to get as much official info on anything really just like everybody else.

Deduced from the information we have the Volgue might appear soon, something that's no secret and the possibility that the DLC might contain any sort of new Arkfall is more certain than anything. There might be other tidbits that float around and I don't know or simply forgot.

I thought they already said new DLC will include areas free for everyone, and new races, weapons, and equipment for those that pay.
