can anyone explain what falloff damage is and what the benifits of falloff mods are
just like the topic says can anyone explain what the falloff damage is im kind of confused about it and whats the benifits of a falloff damage mod against other mods im thinking its something to do with your bullets hitting an enemy before they hit that big sweet spot but it confuses me i ask because i have a teir 3 shotgun mod for a barrel and im thinking about shoving it on my orange frc heavy scatter gun

Falloff damage is a penalty to damage suffered when hitting targets beyond the weapon's optimal range.

Just found this in another post.

Falloff DMG is the damage that you deal when your weapon is outside the optimal range. So, if you have a mod that deals +8 falloff dmg, then your weapon deals [x] dmg when out of optimal range and with the mod it's [x] +8. Hope that helps.

Falloff is the distance your gun can shoot before it starts losing the DMG related to it.

Meaning that adding more Falloff like a +8 Falloff DMG Mod would mean that the gun will still do max DMG at a further range.

It is basically like Bullet drop, but instead of the bullet dropping the DMG drops the further away you are from the target.

So to have more range you add more Falloff DMG.

1: sniper rifles don't have fall off(not that i notice)

2: if your hitting some one with the butt of your sniper rifle, your using it wrong.

i understand snipers don't need falloff, but as i like to hit mobs from as far as my 360 will let me see. i would like my bullet to hit with all it's power. i have noticed lower dmg hits at max sight than the range you can hear them speaking.

Just would be nice to know exactly how far (feet/meters?) the drop off is for different weapon types. Then you'd know if it's worth adding a +4 weapon drop off mod.

Kind of the same idea as how many actual hit points your character has....still wondering if the +HP perk is worth it or not at 215 bonus HPs.
