After about 80 hours of play time, I actually AM still enjoying this game. It's a compound of many things, from the random assistance from other players, to playing with my brother. From the pursuit of more guns, to trophies, to finishing contracts and pursuits, to lore. I enjoy the PvP, and co-op missions and all that. I look forward to the future, and I love the tie-ins with the show. But most importantly, I enjoy playing Defiance because of the personal narrative I write in my head while playing. It's fun for me to come in first for a major arkfall, because it makes me think that maybe, my character is one of the best arkhunters out there. Sadly, I may never get my character crossed over into the show, but it's not gonna stop me from trying, nor from having a good time. At the very least, I want to try being an extra in the show when they film season 2 (I act and live near the filming site) because that would be rad.

Actually, Maybe the biggest thing as to why I'm enjoying the game still is because I can count on one hand the number of bugs I've personally run into, and it wouldn't be a full hand.

Could be because I haven't been around long, but the game is fun and offers more than one way to grind. Also, I have a life and it takes me more than 3 weeks to grind through everything I'm interested in when playing an MMO.

I'm not playing for hours on end like I was a few weeks ago, but I'm still loving Defiance. I never planned for this game to be a major time sink and the fact I can just jump in for an hour or so aday and find something to do that wont take hours to complete is refreshing in an mmo. I'm looking forward to new content and when it comes will probably increase my playtime abit before going back to my hour or so aday again until further content appears. I see this game as a fun, casual but long term mmo that I can see me playing for some time to come.

Sure there is glitches, there are bugs, servers sometimes time-out, missions cant be finished, framerate drops in crowded places, enemies get repetitive and the graphics doesnt seem to match with other of my PS3-games.

But i have great friends to play with, there is enough content in different sort of missions, Time Trials, Hotshots, Rampages, Arkfalls, pursuits, contracts, loot etc etc. My 'complaints' can (almost all) be fixed, this game has definitely potential. I got hours of gameplay into it and plan to do play a whole lot more, I'm hooked for sure! This game was most certainly worth the money i paid for it, even better, i will support this game and get the paid DLC's as well. The basics of the game are great and things can only get better. I LOVE IT!

People say "Psshh, this game has raids, and PVP and blah blah .." about games like WOW .. but break down the end game of those games.. what do you do? Ultimately you grind the same raids over and over and over till you get gear. Thats what happened in GWs, GW2, SWTOR, DAOC, EQ, EQ2, etc. Ultimately.. you end up repeating the same events towards one goal. Stuff.

Now I am sure people will chime in here and say "yeah but you don't fight the same four mobs over and over.."! Don't you though? I mean you can dress it up as an orc warrior or gnoll fighter or whatever you want to call it ... its a berk swinging at you with a sword. Pretty terrain and a ton of zones are fine and all I guess too .. expect how often do you go back to those zones once you actually out level them other than on an alt and for that matter, how much time do you truely spend looking at scenery?

Why I like Defiance is I can log in and work towards "stuff" in a much wider variety of ways, because Key-codes, even though they have made them a bit harder to get, can still be acquired in alot of different ways. I can run Co-ops, I can do ark-falls, I can revisit mines and farms... I can even still get them from emergencies via breaking down loot. Ultimately, I can get the goal we all actually are after in MMOs .. stuff.. by just doing random stuff. I never have to repeat my actions. I don't have to find a massive raid, I don't have to paint by numbers my way through a dungeon, and I don't have to worry about 'maximizing' my character either. I have the freedom to play my way and still prosper as a character. Thats freaking awesome to me.

On top of that its the first in a long line of MMos to try the twitch play and really get it. Its the only one I can remember since really Fallen Earth or DDO where I felt my hand eye coordination actually meant something rather then stupid mechanics.

So do I genuinely like Defiance and am I genuinely still enjoying myself after months... cause yes, I was an alpha tester... of play? Yep yep and yep.

agree! remember, its an MMO!! they are all the same!!! you play tons of hours to get new guns and stuff. its the main reason! **** story, **** everything! its an MMO!!!

Heh, not quite my point, and I happen to think Defiance has a good story personally, plus it will continue to evolve. I am one of the people that actually reads the data-recorders we hunt for. But what it all comes down to in MMOs is funny enough .. we are running around looking for gear. Its what raiding is about, its what most content in these games are about, and if you doubt that.. just look how many blow up threads there are everytime they make the slightest change to the loot mechanics.

I play most nights and im still enjoying the game loads, ive completed most side missions and just like trying to complete the challenges now.

No plans do do a quitter on it or moan about it, as its a work in progress with hopefully better content to come.
