if your opinion is that I am "bonkers", then there is no convincing you otherwise.

However, all of the MMOs I have mentioned are recent (read less than 2 years), and after years, and years, and years, of No MMOs on consoles, except FFXI, to have 6 launched/announced/rumored within a relatively short timeframe(for MMOs) shows that Developers are finally willing to give Console MMOs a chance, which they were never, ever, willing to do before. which was my point, that you obviously missed. and with Defiance and Dust 514, in particular, it was developed for Consoles, and not just ported, like the rest of them. That in and of itself, is significant. The future of MMOs on consoles can go either way, depending on whether Console players take to them, but as of now, it is finally starting to look up, after a long time of it seeming like we'd never see a true Console MMO.

MMOs could establish a real presence in the Console landscape, particularly in next gen, if a good developer or two is willing to take that risk. that's what I am saying.

that said, I have no real ill will towards PC Gaming. people play on whatever platform they want to play, and none is better or more significant than others. I used to play PC exclusively. Now I prefer Consoles. and unlike most PC Elitists and Console Fanboys, I feel no real need to denigrate another gamer just because he doesn't play on the same platform I do.

I'll be too busy having a lot of fun playing games on my "outdated, ancient" console that still looks damn good in 1080p regardless.

Despite it being outdated and me creating this thread lol...I was however quite impressed, I was expecting a lot less than what was shown, but we still don't know what GPU is being used. Also it being fixed hardware programming straight to metal will hopefully be possible, and with the spec improvements mostly RAM it'll make game development a lot easier and will give PC's better port's as a result. still I'm probs going to get a good PC Rig and stick with that depends how the Xbox follows this up..

    FACTboys are so amusing.

fixed that for ya. I own and run a few consumer electronics stores, from building pc's to customizing your in home theater...I have loyal customers because I go and get the facts, from the manufacturer's publishings and comparisons to measured data, and blind testing/surveys of consumers.. the evidence between the 2 products leans, quite heavily, in the favor of the one many people didn't think was on top. heck, the fact alone that of all the devices you could get for home entertainment, for 189.99 it does more than any other.

fanboy.... sigh.. I sense what we really have here is a true fanboy, willing to believe, contrary to facts.. that their system is better.. believing something is better does not make it so..

Don't worry, I heard the same thing from the HDDVD people vs bluray.. back in 2000 when I new already the emergence of blue led and blue laser technology coming to fruition the science had blatantly pointed to which product would be better, more efficient, more durable, hold twice as much.. but.. the xbox kids and forum fanboys all readily declared hddvd the victor without knowing anything about the tech behind the formats... Thankfully this time, the advanced tech won (see beta max.. we could have had "HD" decades ago..)

No, but writing essays on a message board about how your system is better makes it so. right?

I don't care either way, I've played pretty much everything on every system at some point in time. I started with PC. I had a PS3, and now I currently have a Xbox. each has good qualities and bad qualities. each has good games, and bad games. I carry no bias, which is why I say smh @ fanboys. I dislike them all equally. Playstation Fanboys, Xbox Fanboys, PC Elitists, all of you can go play in traffic. Games are games, and whatever and whomever creates the games that you enjoy, you should be free to play them on that platform without self-righteous know-it-alls writing novels to try and convince you that you are wrong for what you enjoy.

I'll have fun with whatever I decide to play on whatever console I decide to play it on. You'll continue in vain to try and convince yourself that I made the wrong choice in deciding what's fun for me to play.

    fanboy.

no, no, I take it back. you sound less like a fanboy, and more like a professional advertiser for the Playstation Brand. hit all the bullet points right down to the pricing.

    but still, have a cookie.

That game does look pretty nice, I thought it would only be a PC exclusive as those graphics were too good for current gen to handle good to see it's set for next gen instead
