Did you get what you paid for? $60, $100, $150?

$60, not even close to getting my moneys worth. I might get to play for 2 hours after putting my daughter to bed, and for the last week and a half it seems every time I've gone to play the servers have crashed 5 minutes beforehand (yes I know, beating a dead horse with a stick on the servers).
Amen. I also have 'a life' and have avoided MMO's because of my infrequent schedule.

I am out $60 for the game, only to discover I MUST have xbox Live and Gold membership. Add another $60.

When I can play - the game is fantastic. But the other characters sometimes stand in front of me so I wondered if they were trying to chat. Another $25 for a headset only to discover in the Settings the ability to turn on chat is greyed out. So ... $145 invested and only 1 time in 3 weeks have I not had some sort of an issue during a Arkfall.

THank god for the built in microphone on my Kinect! Unfortunatly it picks up the game noise and i have to mute it to avoid annoying other players! And yeah i spent $60 on top of the game just to reactivate my xbox live gold just for this game! And yes i do enjoy the game and i do not regret my purchase i feel it could be better!

I've gotten over 80 hours of play so far for a $60 dollar game. I've easilly gotten my money's worth.

By comparison, the last game I bought prior to Defiance I also paid the same price for was Bioshock Infinite. I only got 10 hours of play out of that. It also has a 'Season Pass' with nothing actually out for it yet. But to be fair I didnt buy the pass for either game due to lack of info on contents.

(This is not a criticism of Bioshock or saying the two games should be compared on any basis other than similar pricing.)

This game would be worth about $20 to me. Defiance is pretty sad value for money on PC where there are effectively endless free MMOs. Games like Tera die and go f2p and suddenly you can get a couple hundred hours of mindless mmorpg action for no out of pocket cost at all.

The game and video game tie in selling point is a ****ing joke too.

Yeah. Most MMOs end up going F2P when the client base starts dropping, or the income to the company starts decreasing and they can't afford to keep the servers running.

When they go F2P they get most revenue off the cash shops. But those only work when they're reasonably priced to the player/consumer. People tend to drive to them because they only pay for the parts they want as they want them.

Considering the fact that Borderlands 2 is a pretty lazy upgrade of the first (amazing) game, that I spent $60 on, I'm loving Defiance and don't ever regret buying it. Tired of people complaining to be honest, the ones who are "leaving" will definitely be back.

And the games that get driven to f2p usually had a lot of development money with the expectation of a sub. A lot of them are pretty huge games.

paid 26€ for the game and so far I think the game... Isn't exactly there yet.

The gameplay itself is fun, don't get me wrong. It doesn't cease to be fun after few hours either. But the clunky ui, lack of GFX options to fix the horrendous drawdistance, lack of anything tangliable as I gain weapons / levels and other miscellaneous factors leave me with a bit of a ponder here. I can't say I've played a lot, god no, but what I have played feels like a basic grind. Recently my hopes got crushed when friend told me the 'starting area' is the only part of the map currently available as well.

Its a fun game, but would I have paid full price for this? Hell no. It isn't particulary helped by the make-belief swear-words that still failed to drop it below M.

It got potential I'll give it to it. I'll still be playing it and keeping up with the developement, perhaps the shtakos and whatnot become less annoying as the show goes on and I get more involved in the world. I mean that happened in BSG, and the game can only get better along patches 'n dlc. =)

Also their monetization model needs to be mentioned as a turn-off. Pay to play, pay more to play more, AND microtransactions? Hurr durr what is this, hammerpoint interactive?

Yeah right, you honestly didn't know you had to have Gold? All online multiplayer games on Xbox require a gold subscription, why would this be any different?

Sometimes I wish this game was subscription based, THEN you'd have a reason to complain. Barely. Even games with LESS features and content than Defiance have issues at launch. This is an MMO, so I'd say it's doing pretty well.

Damn well got my moneys worth technically the amount of time I've gotten out of it makes the 60 I paid on psn a steal. I'm currently at 24 days playtime. and I'm not even bored of it I love how the system they've developed works.
