Did you get what you paid for? $60, $100, $150?
I paid $60, for the game. I also convinced myself to buy the Season Pass for $40 that's $100 total.

IMOO I have gotten my $60 worth. I received all the pre order items I was promised. I had zero issues with playing the game other them minor bugs that honestly did not really effect my gameplay much.
UNTIL the patches and fixes and nerfs and whatnot started coming in a week later.

Ever since they attempted to "fix" the game the game has gotten worse to play and enjoy.

So YES I have gotten my $60 worth of the game.
I have not gotten my extra $40 worth of Season pass because all I have gotten is a hat and not yet received the lockbox promised. I understand that is supposed to be spread out across the rest of the year.

So Have you gotten your moneys worth?

yep 300+ hours, sure feels like I got my money worth. For $60 that is. I am basically waiting to see how things workout with DLC and so on.

Purchased Deluxe version (+ season pass) - specifically for the red suit - and I got the suit 1 month past release. Joke is I don't play since mid-April due to all those bugs with resetting pursuits, resetting skills, time trials adding 3 seconds to result, contracts and achievements requiring to finish the same instance like 5 times to register. Game experience is literally poisoned (and missing red suit added a lot to it).

Nope. Not going to buy any Trion games in future. I think Rift was their first and last good game. It's really nice I got Storm Legion upgrade from Steam as part of Defiance pre-order.

I've spent $60 so far and waiting for the first DLC to see if I'll get the season pass or not. For $60 I have gotten my money's worth.

    I bought:
360 ultimate edition (thought I picked ps3 version)
Psn downloaded digital deluxe edition (didn't want to wait for return so just kept it and bought digital) + pass
    Steam digital deluxe edition

At the moment? No, not even close.

That seems reasonable. I've stopped buying Season Passes since I can never tell when the DLC will actually come out and if I'll still be playing the game at that point.

I've put in somewhere around the 80 hour mark for my $60, so very much worth it.

when i compare the amount of enjoyment, content and hours i've put in games like Halo, Elder Scrolls, Borderlands, NHL games, Diablo 2/3, Fallout, Bad Company 2, etc, namely games i've paid $60 or less for, and the shallow content and building frustration with Trion and Defiance, unfortunately i can not say i feel like it was money well spent at all

and i'm not trying to compare the GAMEPLAY of Defiance to these games, just a simple comparison of the enjoyment to frustration ratio. that's it. it's a personal opinion, not a statement of universal fact

*edit* did not mean to include quote originally, sorry!

Deluxe + Season Pass = $140 for me. And yes, even after only playing the game this week, it was worth the investment. I have only experienced a few crashes at this point, and while annoying, I take it as part of the gaming territory we live in these days. As long as the game continues to improve over the next year it will be well worth my time and money. A lifetime sub to STO, though ... that was a different story.

In my opinion, if you get 35+ hours out of a game then you've already got your money's worth.

imho I got more than the $60 worth of enjoyment out of the game so far

now the next decision I will make will depend on the DLC content to see if it is worth getting the season pass, buying the DLC individually or not even bothering to get the DLC at all if I feel the content is not worth the the price it will cost

lets see... GOW3 paid 60 + season pass... played for about 1 yr (even after being reset for no reason) Defiance... 60 and thinking of trading in after 4 weeks and less hrs per week. i guess thats a big fat no since i cant play all the game types that were intended at launch

This. I spend $60 on a bag of weed I blow through in three days and in the end all I have to show is a worse memory and a full ash tray.

I obviously would always prefer to have paid less, but I've gotten a pretty good bit of entertainment for my $60 and since I am continuing to play, I hope I will get my $30 in DLC...

All in all I'm pretty happy with the game...not as smooth a launch as Rift and doesn't feel as polished in places, but still solid game.

My only real complaint is the interface, which is a concession to console games and is very clunky for a PC game, I'd love to see them diverge the interface on the PC from the consoles in the near future.

DDL+SP+some InvSlots about 130$ or so.
considering the hours played -> worth it
quality wise -> average, but got potential, lets see

If I would be concerned about money, I probably would have spend 48$ for the game (GMG+code) first and waited for 1st impressions. However, I only buy a few games these days... so normally I am all in or out ;)

the 2 greatest disasters I experienced
    • DragonAge2 - press button & something awesome happens
    • Alien: CM - Gearbox allegedly took Segas 60m$ ... and made BL2. Think some guy is taking them to court for the "in-game trailer" footage being "way off"

I got over one hundred hours I think. Absolutely got my money out of it. I'm not even done playing. I have many complaints, but generally I like Defiance. It hits the spot.

$60. Haven't even come close to getting what I invested. Arkfall kills getting reset daily (no longer doing arkfalls), PVP kills getting reset a couple times a week (no longer doing PVP), I like goals but when they keep getting reset I'd rather not continue to bash my head against the proverbial wall anymore. Might buy the first DLC but will not be getting the season pass.

bought the ultimate version for the ps3 but ended up enjoying the pc version more so bought the standard pc version. Since they wont transfer my bits and ultimate perks to my pc version I suppose I didn't get what I paid for...in terms of playing the game - I love it.

deluxe + season pass. I feel I have gotten a lot of play time for this and have had a lot of fun. There is nothing you can really say about not getting anything from the season pass as they have not released anything as of yet, but will in the future. I feel I have already gotten my money worth and in time as things get fixed I will get a lot more than I paid for.

I picked up the $100 version off of steam, just recently received my new clearomizers for my electronic cig for $47 bucks to help get me off of cigarettes $4.75 a pack. I've had the game for 1 week, been absolutely enjoying the game. Recently joined a clan to try to get some pursuits done that need teamwork for.

Everything we do is an investment of time+money Trion seems to ignore certain issues, but this bug with Pursuits resetting really set them into high gear. I'd like it if they investigated the "nuke everything" at the Arkfalls some time soon as well. Just seems a bit off the reaction to pursuits resetting vs the reaction to obvious exploits. Both are important, but the exploits do not seem to register on their "Holy ****" meter.

I've gotten my moneys worth at this point, really hoping they iron things out so it won't even be a question people ask anymore. I am happy there is no monthly subscription.

Funny how people just dropped 60USD for the game even with all the below average reviews.

I was interested in the game but was holding back for a better deal.

Not trying to advertise or anything but I manage to get the game at an online digital game store, DDE + Season pass for 73USD.

So, despite all the hiccups, I actually don't really feel all that bad on the purchase. =/

It's hard to say. On the one hand, I agree with those discussing such games as TES and (post ending) Mass Effect in that there is a high bar for "money's worth" once you've exceeded the $50 point, which I exceeded by an additional $40 for Defiance. On the other hand, I have not had that much time with the game and quickly got lost trying to figure everything out, as well as trying to figure out how what I'm doing relates to anything in the show (which I do enjoy every week).

Now, much as I would rate scaring the crap out of the woman with the hellbug I got in my collector's box when she's doing her makeup or in the shower as worth almost the entire $99, she doesn't jump as high as the first time on successive attempts, which calls for value depreciation. Also, with the workload I have right now, and being out of country last week, I have not been able to devote more than about three hours a week to playing.

With that said, I seem to be floundering around a lot and getting a lot of individual kills with sniper rifle and shotgun, which is fun, but I haven't gotten into contracts or PvP, so I can't say I've gotten much more out of this than playing a few maps on Unreal Tournament with bots at maximum, except new environments, and an ATV. I was supposed to get a Challenger with my purchase, but it never showed up, although my extra suit and Junior G.I. Introductory Shield did show up. With that, I still wish I could start over with everyone else and this time, devote the same time to the game so I could be caught up.

Does that mean I'm still somehow satisfied? If I were unimpressed, would I want to start over? Have I in fact, been cheated, but ironically, by only my own inattentiveness? Am I actually philosophizing about something like this?

I leave this to my millions of avid readers to decide.

I got the Gamestop Ultimate CE and yes...I do feel like I am getting my money's worth because the game is still going strong for me. I haven't even come close to completing any major pursuits, I still have lots of road ahead of me. I only have a limited amount of time to play and when I can, I savor it. I know the bugs will get worked out and the improvements will come. I'm a pretty patience person - I have no desire to zerg the content in this game - even if I could.

I just downloaded defiance 4 days ago, and watched the first three episodes Monday night. Truthfully, I got the game to get my mind off my recently deceased family dog - seemed like the defiance universe was big enough to lose some hours in. Out of those 4 days I've got about 10 hours of game time in comparison to 4-5 hours of waiting. There is a point where, no matter how much I like the show or the game, I start to think about getting my money back. I've been kicked 3 times, twice during arkfalls. It's just... disheartening.

Not to mention, while the gameplay is solid, the menu screens are OK at best.
    Modifications could be streamlined:
    - by having some type of marker next the name of an item when you're scrolling through the inventory that tells you IF said item could be broken down to resources or IF it could have mod slots added instead of checking each item one at a time (its a tedious timesuck).
    - once you select an item in the salvage matrix, if you press 'Back' command (mapped to B on my gamepad), it takes you out of the whole menu screen system and back to the game. You must press the 'Inventory' command or re-select the Item to go back to the inventory. However, if you select one of the options in the salvage matrix (add attachment, breakdown resources, add mod slots) you would use the 'Back' command to back out of that selection. From there, it naturally follows that another press would take you back another, single step in the process - or to the inventory. Not out of the salvage matrix and game menu altogether. There's no need for a separate command that takes you back to the inventory there guys, I'm going through that menu rapidly, and switching buttons is awkward. Just make the 'Back' command take you back to the inventory and another press of 'Back' take you out of the game menu. Gamer's can double, triple tap with the best of them.

Aside from wonky menu's, it just feels... raw. I like the game, but it feels rushed in more than a few ways. Then, on top of that, these server issues. I'm patient, but if I have to wait for you to fix the servers 5 out of the first 7 days I own the game, can you blame me for wanting a refund? I hope it doesn't get to that point - I'm surprised that 3 out of 4 days there have been issues (beyond the scheduled maintenance).

So far, I haven't got what I paid 70$ for (the game and 800 bits) - glad I held off on the season pass. The balls in Trions court... if they get these issues ironed out soon I'd be glad to be along for the DLC ride. Still, t's very possible I'll be demanding my $60 back if there are issues like these over the weekend...

Hell no. Sent multiple messages asking to be comp'd for the boosts that Trion claimed made the Ultimate Edition "a good value" and I was told it would "compromise the leveling system" and that there was nothing they could do. Last I checked, when you pay for something, you get it. Never spending another dime on anything released by Trion. Unless, of course, they man up.

Do I feel I got enough play out of my $60? Sure. Will I give Trion another dime for Defiance in the cash shop or for DLCs? No.

I log on occasionally now just to go pewpewpew, but other than that all six of us have moved on. Maybe, one day, if they actually get their game fixed, we'll play regularly again. And yes, yes, yes, I've played MMO for 14 years. I've seen all levels of launch issues. This one has way too many serious bugs that are still lingering a month later.

Did I get what I paid for?
Not in the slightest, I paid $100 for digital deluxe edition of this game after watching 3 episodes of the tv series and some gameplay on youtube. I played for a few minutes before the servers died and have now been waiting for about 4 hours to play it again?

So essentially I paid $100 to create a character get kinda interested then get a giant trollface turkey slapping me and not allowing me to play any more.

I am going to say I did not get my money's worth.

Paid $150, and no, I don't feel that I have yet. My scale is that if I had spent that money on drugs, could I have had more enjoyment. So far the answer is yes, but, my Ultimate Edition came with a season pass, so I am hoping the DLCs will be better than ***.
