Last I checked, when you pay for something, you get it. Never spending another dime on anything released by Trion. Unless, of course, they man up.

Um. We were all given an extra week of boosts, if you were here at launch. Otherwise the UE comes with a mere 7 days of EXP, Scrip, and Loot boosts.

So I don't understand what you mean by comp'd, did you not receive them at all? If you did not receive them they should resolve this via in-game or live chat support. I've had all of my missing items and such eventually turn up especially since they've been able to resolve more and more bugs since launch.

    As for what I paid:

    $163 Ultimate Edition (w/ tax)
$287 Triton Warhead Headset for Xbox
    $20 in Bits

So, $470 later and still having a blast! Completed the story, pushing EGO 700 have tons of pursuits, side missions, challenges left, and the Episode Missions being on a timer makes it interesting to really get in and get things done even with the numerous available distractions.

The show tie-ins have been great can't wait to see what they do as they move forward.

Unfortunately I don't think I have..not yet anyways. Don't get me wrong I LOVE defiance,

It just seems like this game was REALLY released half done like Everything about the game seems to have an aspect about it that is amazing..but seems unfinished in another..

    Missions:
I don't feel like there is enough content in it. I mean yes it has a ton of pursuits and such but THe main story line went by WAY to fast, especially if you were playing through it with friends (they really should of had like a co-op story line that you needed to be in groups to activate IMO) I did enjoy the missions and some of them were actually a little tough there just seemed to not be enough of them.

The lack of main missions wouldn't of been so bad if the side missions weren't...well yea some of them were ridiculously quick and easy, some not even worth calling any kind of mission imo lol.

Co-Op is pretty legit as long as a decent amount comes through DLC I'll be happy, perhaps some different areas to go into..kinda tired of that bunker lol

Ark falls especially major ones, they are friggin AWESOME, but a tad too easy..I've noticed more hells bugs recently but I think we need more Nano bugs in major ark falls to bump up the difficulty. Also for the love of god make car damage NOT count on the leaderboard at the end of the arkfall lol. Anyways yea arkfalls As much as I love them..it got tiring doing the same thing..Hell give me a Mega nan hulker that busts out of the hellbug hive and starts whooping 60+players ***'s , throw a major raider arkfall in there with some mother loads guarding a huge crystal!!. There is alot that could of been done to expand on arkfalls..because really only have 2..well I'd say 2-1/2 kinds of major arkfall kind of gets repetitive

That kind leads me to my next thing..the amount of diff enemies it would seem to be they could of added at least more monster types to fight I mean if bugs mutated from the terraforming accident into hell bugs whos to say there isnt other creatures? I mean i know the game links with the show, but the tv show wouldn't have to show every mutated creature out there in the world?

Just imagine what just a few new unique roaming creatures could of done to spice up random encounters and such? Imagine being on your fourwheeler and BOOM a big *** wolf knocks your *** off of it and you see your surrounded by a pack of huge, fast wolves.

Weapons...I really feel the weapon drops need to be more varied..I mean I'd love to see the same guns have dif stats also..like say one AR is 444 damage, another one could drop have nothing extra on it and have maybe 475 with a slight bit less fire rate.

I know some things change around with some weapons but when you have players running with weapons that are 300+ below their ego rating because they haven't found a better gun that is like the one they got there may be an issue with the variety of weapons being dropped, at least semi random stats could of been a EASY fix for this ?

Vehicles..Please let the shops have more dif types of vehicles..or at least have ones with diff stats.maybe I want a SUPER fast 4 wheeler with barely any shields?? Perhaps a slower but more armored buggy? cmon now lol again mix it up!! make things more unique!

It may not sound like it but I do love this game..its just seems so half done, I mean if your not into time trials and such and going through and trying to complete every pursuit the game gets very repetitive pretty quickly...

Also...past those first "episode mission"s all we have gotten since the show came on are..pursuits...that dont really give ya good loot lol atleast give everybody who finishes those pursuits by a certain deadline a random (but good!) weapon or something! this was supposed to be a revolutionary type of thing where a tv show and a game link and possibly influence each other even if in small ways...and past those episode missions..nothing..I was REALLY excited about that aspect and feel VERY robbed on that one

Its almost like they were given a very short time to get the game made before the series came out and just couldn't really do anything but set a beast framework aid down and start building lol

Also for the love of god add in some in game info options to explain synergy mods, nano effects, and dame weapon stats (i still honestly dont know wtf charge damage is on a BMG)

also for the love of god let me see what damage my ALL my nano effects are doing!!!! I mean I can see fire damage, how much life does syphon drain?? is it just w/e my weapon does when it activates? or is it my weapon damage + a bonus amount. This type of info should be readily available in game.

I got what I payed for. Are there issues? Yes, but they are working on them. I think they need to slow down their cert process to catch these issues before releasing another patch.

$60, not even close to getting my moneys worth. I might get to play for 2 hours after putting my daughter to bed, and for the last week and a half it seems every time I've gone to play the servers have crashed 5 minutes beforehand (yes I know, beating a dead horse with a stick on the servers).

I've put enough time in and had enough fun to feel I got my $60 worth, and I'll most likely be buying the Season Pass once the DLC starts to hit. I've had few problems with the PS3 version.

If this was considered a single player platform game then maybe. As it stands this game was marketed as an MMO and it doesn't even come close to what I thought I would be getting for my money. In most MMOs I can expect a massive story and side missions that can take up hundreds of hours of my time if not more.

So far I completed the story and side missions in about 12-15 hours of gameplay and have nothing left that can hold my attention. As a comparison Borderlands took me about 20 hours to complete the story and side missions in it and was market as a single player game. I feel I got more entertaiment for my money with that game and it was market for single player.

Now I still hold hope for this game but I won't be playing it again for another 6-8 months and hope there will be enough content released to take more than 2-3 days to complete. If not it will go back on the shelf to collect dust.

Amen. I also have 'a life' and have avoided MMO's because of my infrequent schedule.

I am out $60 for the game, only to discover I MUST have xbox Live and Gold membership. Add another $60.

When I can play - the game is fantastic. But the other characters sometimes stand in front of me so I wondered if they were trying to chat. Another $25 for a headset only to discover in the Settings the ability to turn on chat is greyed out. So ... $145 invested and only 1 time in 3 weeks have I not had some sort of an issue during a Arkfall.

THank god for the built in microphone on my Kinect! Unfortunatly it picks up the game noise and i have to mute it to avoid annoying other players! And yeah i spent $60 on top of the game just to reactivate my xbox live gold just for this game! And yes i do enjoy the game and i do not regret my purchase i feel it could be better!

I've gotten over 80 hours of play so far for a $60 dollar game. I've easilly gotten my money's worth.

By comparison, the last game I bought prior to Defiance I also paid the same price for was Bioshock Infinite. I only got 10 hours of play out of that. It also has a 'Season Pass' with nothing actually out for it yet. But to be fair I didnt buy the pass for either game due to lack of info on contents.

(This is not a criticism of Bioshock or saying the two games should be compared on any basis other than similar pricing.)

This game would be worth about $20 to me. Defiance is pretty sad value for money on PC where there are effectively endless free MMOs. Games like Tera die and go f2p and suddenly you can get a couple hundred hours of mindless mmorpg action for no out of pocket cost at all.

The game and video game tie in selling point is a ****ing joke too.

Yeah. Most MMOs end up going F2P when the client base starts dropping, or the income to the company starts decreasing and they can't afford to keep the servers running.

When they go F2P they get most revenue off the cash shops. But those only work when they're reasonably priced to the player/consumer. People tend to drive to them because they only pay for the parts they want as they want them.

Considering the fact that Borderlands 2 is a pretty lazy upgrade of the first (amazing) game, that I spent $60 on, I'm loving Defiance and don't ever regret buying it. Tired of people complaining to be honest, the ones who are "leaving" will definitely be back.

And the games that get driven to f2p usually had a lot of development money with the expectation of a sub. A lot of them are pretty huge games.

paid 26€ for the game and so far I think the game... Isn't exactly there yet.

The gameplay itself is fun, don't get me wrong. It doesn't cease to be fun after few hours either. But the clunky ui, lack of GFX options to fix the horrendous drawdistance, lack of anything tangliable as I gain weapons / levels and other miscellaneous factors leave me with a bit of a ponder here. I can't say I've played a lot, god no, but what I have played feels like a basic grind. Recently my hopes got crushed when friend told me the 'starting area' is the only part of the map currently available as well.

Its a fun game, but would I have paid full price for this? Hell no. It isn't particulary helped by the make-belief swear-words that still failed to drop it below M.

It got potential I'll give it to it. I'll still be playing it and keeping up with the developement, perhaps the shtakos and whatnot become less annoying as the show goes on and I get more involved in the world. I mean that happened in BSG, and the game can only get better along patches 'n dlc. =)

Also their monetization model needs to be mentioned as a turn-off. Pay to play, pay more to play more, AND microtransactions? Hurr durr what is this, hammerpoint interactive?

Yeah right, you honestly didn't know you had to have Gold? All online multiplayer games on Xbox require a gold subscription, why would this be any different?

Sometimes I wish this game was subscription based, THEN you'd have a reason to complain. Barely. Even games with LESS features and content than Defiance have issues at launch. This is an MMO, so I'd say it's doing pretty well.

Damn well got my moneys worth technically the amount of time I've gotten out of it makes the 60 I paid on psn a steal. I'm currently at 24 days playtime. and I'm not even bored of it I love how the system they've developed works.

I honestly feel like Ive gotten more game then what I paid for, especially when you consider that they will keep adding to the game even without a subscription or buying the DLCs, which I probably will. If I were paying a subscription fee on top of the $60 Id probably would say no, at this point.

The game is not quite like a traditional MMO with a fee, it's much more then an FPS without a fee, which would also cost about $60, so yeah I got my moneys worth and then some.

Does the game have some quirks? Sure, all games do. Is it everything I hoped it would be? No but it's rare that a game usually is. I do see a lot of potential for this game and I see Trion working on making it better. So yeah I got my $60 and if I keep playing it and new content keeps coming I'll be getting even more then that.

I paid for the Ultimate Edition and paid Gamestop extra to ship it overnight ($174 in total). Have I gotten my money's worth? I have received everything from the UE and pre orders. I have enjoyed this game so far. But with the new patches and especially the changes to the contribution system, I am beginning to not want to play Defiance 6 or more hours a day. I have even regressed back to playing EVE, a mmo that I have been away for 3 months now. Not regretting the $50 to reactivate my account for 6 months at all.

I don't normally game much ... like at all. But I bought the game with the hopes I'd get a little more into the series, maybe get some interesting backstories and get a feel for life in this new world. (And maybe piss away some time on something other than Netflix in this little rural hole I call home.)

I went all out and bought the UE, and even spending that much, I think I've got my money's worth. Yes, it's buggy as hell, and at EGO 1200, I am showing far less excitement about playing, BUT if I were to shelve this game and never come back to it, I wouldn't feel like I was cheated. (That being said, I will shelve it at some point, but only until new content comes out. And even then, probably not until after the TV series has finished for the season.)

I bought the standard version, 60 bucks. I don't do collectors editions.

I feel I am getting my money's worth. I'm at 90 hours played, which is about 78 more hours than the typical 60-dollar Xbox 360 game gives me.

and I've enjoyed every minute of it thus far.

between Neverwinter and Defiance, I'm not sure that I'll be buying any more games anytime soon.

    waiting patiently for Camelot Unchained.

Easily got my 60$ worth, as I've blown more than that in a single night out, and bought the season pass when it was still discounted .. which granted, haven't gotten that value YET, but hadn't really expected to so I'm not unhappy with the purchase. I've also spent about 30$ worth of bits in the store for pretty clothes and a pink truck .. all of which has made me happier playing so that was money well spent also.

Did I get my money's worth?? Yes... I would have to say it does have more content than most. Does it live up to it's potential? Hell no. If this game actually functioned flawlessly it would go down as the best game on xbox 360. But instead everything has something wrong with it. Nothing major enough to hang it up. But enough to put a sour taste in your month. If they don't improve I will fast be moving on to the next shooter that comes out. Really glad I learned my lesson on black ops. Don't buy dlc till it's ready. I got season pass and hate COD. I'm ego 1900 striving for magic 2000. If I don't start getting some mod sets that match I will hang this up for sure. Getting sick of same old guns all day everyday. Big list of cool stuff I can't do anything with.

Did I get my money's worth? Sure why not - Got the Digital Deluxe and got cool suits, a couple nifty guns, and the lore/story is pretty alright and not entirely shallow like some other MMO games and/or television shows.

But do I feel like I have been screwed a little? Well after finding out a few hours ago that they dropped over $100 Million Dollars American on this game and it's still practically a Beta-game with less things than the actual Beta had (or at least according to people/videos on YouTube, since I could never even DOWNLOAD my own Beta client). And they still try to pass this off as if they are working hard to fix this game when they are clearly not even done with the game they released a month ago.

It still amazes me that all of you are so quick to judge when this game, an MMO, is still in it's stages of infancy. Plenty of content to come (A year and a half worth of planned content, I read on a dev post) and new stuff being added frequently.

I think you're all expecting far too much of something that has only just reached a month old. Content is not born out of nowhere then magically brought over by the DLC stork. It's hand crafted by artisans that are taking your every criticism to heart and working around that to make you content they hope you will enjoy.

Sure, if you've got a bug that's stopping/slowing your game progression, then I can agree you have something to complain about. But complaining about a lack of content when new content is being rolled out slowly but surely is like complaining that you didn't get enough grains of rice in your sushi handroll.

I am 50/50 on how much fault I would put on early games, but after 4+ years of development, the money given to it, and the choice to go with lower-res graphics engines to build it does kind of make me raise an eyebrow.

I have gotten my money's worth and more. I paid $60 for the game. I haven't lagged or experienced bugs. In fact I lag more in cod! I think it's a great game and one of my favorites. Stop complaining about it because they are working their hardest. The main and side missions are fun, same with the ark falls. I haven't even been to San Fran. So just stop complaining because nobody cares squat that you don't like the game. Just name the bug and hope trion fixes it. Just be patient.

UNTIL the patches and fixes and nerfs and whatnot started coming in a week later.

Ever since they attempted to "fix" the game the game has gotten worse to play and enjoy.

So YES I have gotten my $60 worth of the game.
I have not gotten my extra $40 worth of Season pass because all I have gotten is a hat and not yet received the lockbox promised. I understand that is supposed to be spread out across the rest of the year.

I paid much less for Fallout New Vegas and enjoyed it much more for much longer. Def did not get my money's worth out of the lockboxes bought with bits. That was a ripoff to me.

If they had made this a 4 player co-op with pvp option (Borderlands), Id feel the dollar amount of 60$ was a good deal. Ultimate Editon + 45$ in game store items later I feel I wasted money and should have waited a few months before buying season pass. That said, wasnt Trions fault I expected more from a game labled mmo. Have only myself to blame. Maybe after the dlc Ill feel better about what I spent.

Since this is an MMO with future content on the horizon for each season of the show, I would adjust the tense of your question. By the time people who aren't whining about everything get finished playing, it will easily have paid for itself many, many times over.

    Yes and No.

I bought everything including the season pass because I enjoyed Rift for two years. A couple of my friends gave me crap for it saying the reviews arent very good for the game and I still defended Trion, but even I have to admit they spent years on a game that has very little content to start, the show and game barely have anything to do with each other, and the only content added so far has been pursuits that exist to make you grind. I think the game itself is decent and I havent really been bothered by bugs or broken stuff in game, but when you have a triple A game thats also tied into a major tv release, you probably should actually have content instead of people being bored and walking away already.

I cant say whether it was worth spending the money on the season pass yet since we have not seen any kind of DLC so far.

Everyone got what they paid for, they paid for a game, and they got a game.

What they may not agree on, however, is if what they paid meets their expectations, which is very subjective.
