Actually if your an old time gamer if think back we might of complained a lil cause we got stuck on a hard section of game but we would figure it out the state of gaming is becoming a very sad affair games are made alot easier to cater to this new age casual gamer bull people cry cause they spent a few hours farming something lol cry me a river i can remember spending months to farm one peice of gear now they want to just run outside and it magically drop on the first mob or we used to spend hours tring to figure out a section of game that seemed impossible and its was the worlds best thing when you finally figured it out now they just look it up on youtube where someone hands them the answer or cry its glitched or bugged or to hard the Internet killed games back in our days when a game was released it was almost perfect granted even then there was some that slipped thru but it wasnt to the state its in now why you ask cause everything can be patched or "fixed" after the release of the game they dont care, to me it makes these new age game companies look like crap back in our day a game would come out it had to be right or they would crash and burn cause they couldnt run up and go oh we will just patch that then players sit around waiting for a patch that will never be right cause one patch just leads to another then they try to cover up the patches with DLC content usually only to create new bugs and glitches to be patched starting the process over again till they bleed the game dry

sorry if there are any misspells im headed out the door for work and the rant :P

You "old school" gamer seems to assume too many things and seem simple minded. how do you know who is and who is not and were do you draw the line. imo "old" gamers ruin the gaming for rest of us with your this is too hard because im old and slow threads. and now you understand what you sound like.

My point being that the "Next-gen's" seem to expect that everything is handed to them in a game. Toss in any kind of challenge and suddenly the shtako has hit the fan. Most of the helpful replies are coming from "Old-school" gamers. No, I haven't posted a lot nor posted many replies but this is what I have noticed so far from reading through posts on here. Just happy to see that the "Old-schoolers" are still hanging in here and in most cases running circles around and the "Next-gen's".

am proud to say that "I am an old-school gamer" also, but there are some of the glitches/bugs such as loosing my wpns not in the matrix, missions that cannot be completed (that has been resolved), resets, etc;. an yes I am pushed to the level of typing nasty, but I wont cause its not constructive or courteous, an imho shows ignorance an low brow intel...now I am a low brow, knuckle draging grunt, low middle class, mixed bread American (not to be confused with an Americant, you know the ones who take our taxes). I know freedom, an what freedom of speech means, an what it has cost. But Strahd, I know for a fact you will get troll flamed for this, but anywho I stand beside you olde timer with wpn at the ready. I too am old school, I started with the commodore 64 and then Atari and up from there. There isn't a single MMO out there that isn't constantly patching. I have really enjoyed Defiance, and will continue to do so. I can see a lot of really great potential out there for this game. Give another few months and this game will explode with content and really cool stuff. They've come a long way to fix the important bugs and they are moving as quickly as possible to correct others. It is easy to slam the dev's of Defiance when you are hiding behind ambiguity. Unless you have legitimately been involved in the enormous process it takes to program and code a game like this, you can never understand what the dev's are going through to make this product work. No one wants to create a game that sucks, no one wants to create a game that fails. I think this game will be incredible and those of us who stick it out will be thankful we did.

im a 23 year old but I started with centipede, space invaders, pong, my first system was turbo graphics(I miss it), so I consider myself as an old school gamer, and I don't complain about a game having bugs lol
