The problem with this one is because it is NOT a lap race (ie. only 1 lap, and very long distance), you need to make sure to have any Roadblocks cleared early. You won't get good or close to that time with any Roadblocks in place (because you won't be able to boost through them).

So you might have to clear that first.

Also a lot of mistakes that I see is people boost the turns and jumps as well which in turn made their vehicle lose control/traction when landing or in turn and waste time/hit roadside. You don't need to do that - you can STILL just make the gold time by not boosting at all during the turns or some of the more bumpy jumps. It is more important to have a perfect driving line than raw speed if you want to make the gold time.

I give up. I go through rings, the game lags, and then pretends I didn't go through rings.

I tried that race and I have a question.
is the challanger in that race made to be as bad in handling as possible?
Because if thats how the challanger handles I will not trade in my quad, thats for sure.

Nope. This is how Challenger handles overall.

That's why I myself never like driving the Dodge around even though it is faster than buggy. Plus Challenger's offroad ability is pretty horrendous compare to buggy or bike.

Never realized until now that if you buy something that requires rep, you lose the rep it requied. I busted my rear to get gold in the race, bought 2 of the cars, and didn't have enough scrip for the last one.
I got enough, i merrily go to buy the last one, and I don't have sufficient rep. That annoyed me.

Down to 25 rep, I ran the race again, barely got gold, got to 50 rep. Realized I couldn't repeat the contract. There's pretty much no way for me to get the 3rd car now. Lovely.

    Rep tokens suck. :/

Did you do the weekly rep for Paradise? Running 101 is probably faster than grinding the race for rep every day if you haven't done so yet (weekly = 50 rep, Daily (Dodge Challenger race) = 10 rep).

    Yep. Already took down Dy'Dekuso.

For the sheer annoyance of jumping through hoops to get gold, the reward should have been more impressive. Like, a car. Or something.

At the least, I hope they iron things out better in the future for all races. There were bad starts beyond my control where I lost 12 seconds before I left the starting line. That doomed any sort of gold run I could hope for.
Maybe they could remedy this by only starting the timer once the first checkpoint is met.

Then there's times where the checkpoints didn't appear, or didn't register, or both.

Armstrong memorial bridge didn't even spawn at times. It was like Indiana Jones and the holy crusade as I drove across seemingly nothing over a river.

Diablo station didn't like loading, so sudden pipelines threw a wrench into things. A few invisible fences held me up.

Maybe they could create a system where race courses get priority loading for the racer, or something.

Honestly, if you want gold, and lose forward momentum towards the finish line for any reason, or don't get a perfect start, you may as well get out of the car, and wait for the retry coz you're not getting gold.

It's not a huge thing, but maybe it could remove seconds off th final time if there's an emergency, or arkfall, or both in the race course?

    Eh, enough rambling.

I'm sitting 25 shy of rep required to buy the plum challenger and if I'm s.o.l. because they won't give me another pursuit I will trade this game in. It has had so many bugs that I've been more then happy to overlook, but I've busted by *** on that race and this may just well be the straw that breaks the camels back.
