Look on the map, it's near Iron Demon Ranch. Although, I've tried to do it twice, and both times it has hard froze my Playstation...

Is there any point to the new race?
Besides the contract itself is there any point in bothering with this new dodge race?

They updated the blog post about the vendor:

"Note: The Paradise merchant will be pushed live in the next 24 hours, you’re able to complete Gold and gain the Paradise merchant rep for access to the Dodge Challengers."

Well, doesn't matter. Apparently only people with controllers can steer properly to get gold. With my keyboard I can barely get Bronze.

Nothing better than beating the stupid race and waiting 24hrs to access the vendor.

PC here. First I hate racing games because I'm awful at them. Unless I have a steering wheel rig setup then it's awesome. Hmm, that's an idea. Anyways, ran the race over and over for an hour got bronze and 1 silver barely at 4:05. Gotta shave 20 seconds off that to make Gold. Maybe I could "trade in" my 50 bronze medals and my 1 silver for a gold...

Just got gold with keyboard/mouse. Controllers are only good for playing Megaman.

Just had a couple of cracks at it and got silver both times because I get a little lag all through the race and the uneven terrain can send me into a spin if I over compensate for lag. I don't know if it's server lag because I'm in AUS or game lag and I need to clean some dust out of my PC, I'm guessing a bit of both.

So I guess people with lag issues miss out? Unless I heard correctly that these Dodge vehicles will appear on the "random 500 scrip sales" meaning if you're patient and lucky enough you can buy them for HEAPS cheaper and save your monitor from your fists trying to win gold in a silly race for over-priced mounts :D

Don't feel to bad I play on Xbox with a dedicated line yet I have any where between 15-25 seconds on the clock before the race starts

I have done a few runs now, keep missing by 2 or 3 seconds. (PC with Keyboard)

What gets me is when the rings don't appear in front of you in time and you have to guess which way they are going to be. It's also a little disconcerting when your car disappears. Seems to happen at the same spot each time so I assume it is some kind of server switch.

    Quit being so dramatic! :)

This isn't a complicated racing sim, controllers aren't really that much better for racing, you just have to learn how to use your MKB... but more importantly you have to understand the mechanics in the game.

You are racing against the clock and this race lets you boost nearly the entire time however that doesn't mean you should be boosting the entire time. If you miss a ring and have to backtrack for more than 2-3 seconds your shot at gold is probably gone, at that point hop out of your car and force the reset. There is no point in finishing the race unless you are still trying to memorize the path.

Once you have the path memorized, you should restart the race if you make even the slightest mistake during the first minute or so. Try to drive in as straight a path as possible, you don't need to go through the center of the ring, just graze the edge. Avoid air time, that slows you down most of the time and if you are in the air, stop boosting. Save it for when you hit the ground, the physics in this game cause a major slow down when you hit the ground so you want to start boosting again just before impact.

Unless you are very skilled avoid using the brakes, instead to make sharp turns stop accelerating, turn speed increases dramatically and once you are pointing in the desired direction boost back to full speed. Don't worry about things like power sliding unless you are very confident in your ability and the track path.

You don't need to try and beat the first rated player, just the timer and you'll do it a lot more efficiently keeping these things in mind.

Each ring you go through is pointed in the direction of the next ring so generally unless they are pretty close this shouldn't be a big problem.

I can't get the check point rings to work. Race starts, and nothing triggers after passing the first ring. Tried 15 times, tried reloading. These time trials are completely broken. It's either adding seconds to final times, checkpoints don't register when you pass through them, and sometimes the timer starts before it says "Go!".

Wow that sounds horrible, glad I didn't run into any of that. If all else fails though and you are a vehicle collector, the vehicles sold by the vendor do show up on normal vendors on occasion for the specials. I already have the bright white charger from one of those... only cost 500 credits too.

i have this with multiple time trials, the only thing that works is to log out and back in or you'll keep experiencing it. i did the race last night (1 successful try, most had the rings not activating bug) in exactly 4 minutes because i missed one ring because a bump threw me off my path and i had to go back, so i got silver. when i wanted to do the race again later it had just disappeared, it was still on the map, but the starting point was gone. so i went to bed hoping it'll be fixed by the time i play again (rings bug/start point).

oh and one try i only got in the vehicle 7 seconds in the the time trial, because of lag i guess.

OK, I'll quit being dramatic and quit trying this challenge. Badly thought design isn't worth of any player's time. And I criticized Nim Shondu fight very lightly. For someone that think this fight is just mildly painful to call this challenge a massive fail, it's because there are plenty of reasons more than Nim to be called bad.

Ok realy hate this dam race, tried 8 times, all silver, just miss by 2 secs,

problem 1.. long race with worst car in game,
problem 2.. long race and dam arkfall spawns

big prob... everytime i try it i spawn outside of car, so im 5-8 secs down every dam time.

and why o why do they add this stuff to a already broken game..

Trion fix the cracks dont paint over them !!!!!!!!!!!

Pretty hard to beat a time trial when your game is lagging so badly that the map changes colors in mid air, or your car just plain disappears! And then there's the time getting added to the end - I keep getting silver because of the additional 5 seconds it adds at the end - about the most stupid thing I've seen on a time trial!!

Just bagged gold before the server went down, im curious as to whether thiers a specific vendor being placed for this event or we have to scour the world's vendors to find all the challengers.

If your having trouble beating the race try using your nitro just before the race starts. When the number 1 is on the screen hold it down, it will give you alot faster start.

^so on top of this during the race i constantly lag so hard the rings wont load every race. making me lose + 15 seconds on this crap alone + all the regular bugs during time trials it's imposible for me to even get better then silver. i'm not super with the racing part of the game and i accept this happens with the normal races (which it does and a support ticket was send in for it) because i can do them when the server has less people on it.

but now i can't even do a contract which will expire (unlike the other stuff) not because i'm to bad at it (it can be that i am, i just can't test it with this) but because it was removed when i was doing it at first and when i can play it again it's to laggy to even try.

and for those who don't want read a rant of an annoyed player:

summary: don't put a clock on stuff in the game if it's impossible to even try to get it...

Found the Paradise Vendor a little while ago. Bought the Plum Crazy and Billet Metallic Challengers. Haehad three colors: Plum Crazy, Bright White, and Billet Metallic.

It was located in the upper right hand corner of Madera near the weapon vendor station.

Vendors are in multiple locations, all selling the 3 cars.

It is not hard to get Gold but it does take at least 6 - 7 tries for me on this one (often missing it by 1 or 2 secs).

The problem with this one is because it is NOT a lap race (ie. only 1 lap, and very long distance), you need to make sure to have any Roadblocks cleared early. You won't get good or close to that time with any Roadblocks in place (because you won't be able to boost through them).

So you might have to clear that first.

Also a lot of mistakes that I see is people boost the turns and jumps as well which in turn made their vehicle lose control/traction when landing or in turn and waste time/hit roadside. You don't need to do that - you can STILL just make the gold time by not boosting at all during the turns or some of the more bumpy jumps. It is more important to have a perfect driving line than raw speed if you want to make the gold time.

I tried that race and I have a question.
is the challanger in that race made to be as bad in handling as possible?
Because if thats how the challanger handles I will not trade in my quad, thats for sure.

Nope. This is how Challenger handles overall.

That's why I myself never like driving the Dodge around even though it is faster than buggy. Plus Challenger's offroad ability is pretty horrendous compare to buggy or bike.

Never realized until now that if you buy something that requires rep, you lose the rep it requied. I busted my rear to get gold in the race, bought 2 of the cars, and didn't have enough scrip for the last one.
I got enough, i merrily go to buy the last one, and I don't have sufficient rep. That annoyed me.

Down to 25 rep, I ran the race again, barely got gold, got to 50 rep. Realized I couldn't repeat the contract. There's pretty much no way for me to get the 3rd car now. Lovely.

    Rep tokens suck. :/

Did you do the weekly rep for Paradise? Running 101 is probably faster than grinding the race for rep every day if you haven't done so yet (weekly = 50 rep, Daily (Dodge Challenger race) = 10 rep).

For the sheer annoyance of jumping through hoops to get gold, the reward should have been more impressive. Like, a car. Or something.

At the least, I hope they iron things out better in the future for all races. There were bad starts beyond my control where I lost 12 seconds before I left the starting line. That doomed any sort of gold run I could hope for.
Maybe they could remedy this by only starting the timer once the first checkpoint is met.

Then there's times where the checkpoints didn't appear, or didn't register, or both.

Armstrong memorial bridge didn't even spawn at times. It was like Indiana Jones and the holy crusade as I drove across seemingly nothing over a river.

Diablo station didn't like loading, so sudden pipelines threw a wrench into things. A few invisible fences held me up.

Maybe they could create a system where race courses get priority loading for the racer, or something.

Honestly, if you want gold, and lose forward momentum towards the finish line for any reason, or don't get a perfect start, you may as well get out of the car, and wait for the retry coz you're not getting gold.

It's not a huge thing, but maybe it could remove seconds off th final time if there's an emergency, or arkfall, or both in the race course?

    Eh, enough rambling.

I'm sitting 25 shy of rep required to buy the plum challenger and if I'm s.o.l. because they won't give me another pursuit I will trade this game in. It has had so many bugs that I've been more then happy to overlook, but I've busted by *** on that race and this may just well be the straw that breaks the camels back.
