PVE Stunlock kills

I can forgive Defiance many things but I am getting so tired of doing Hellbug missions where I perform a task then get multiple Hellbug Elite spawn right on top of me stunlock me with their glue then kill me.

There is nothing clever about this; it is poor game play design pure and simple.

I just did the "Waist Deep" side mission again with a new toon. Item 1 collected instantly 4 Archer elites spawn at point blank range and immediately open fire. Item 4 not only do 4 archers spawn but a number of Elite warriors all at point blank range.

This is tiresome Trion please do something about it or I am moving on.

Try rolling and blur away, try rolling and go predator mode, try rolling and... Must I go on how easy it is to get away from hell bug's goo... ? Let alone getting away from hellbug groups... Really easy dude...

That is only one of many CHEAP so-called AI features of this game. Mobs spawn on top of you; mobs spawn behind you; mobs shoot through walls; mobs always know exactly where you're at and can teleport to you; mobs have perfect aim; etc.

The side missions and "emergencies" try to offer "challenge" by overwhelming your ability to react.

Like you said, it's tiresome. It's not challenging at all. It eliminates all pretext of tactics or "skill" since all you can do is run and shoot. The game takes no thought whatsoever; just run and shoot and more run and shoot.

I suspect the scripting isn't capable of much beyond that and the developers aren't capable of thinking outside that box. But, that box is perfect for the lemmings...

It'll be the death of the game.

Did you know if you roll 2 times it will remove any damage over time? (DoT) Fire, Bioblast (Your problem), Electricity, etc.
Just roll 2 times out of the way which will put you out of harm of more blast pods and remove the dot. Then just walk and shoot don't stop moving.

I have never had this problem. There is a dodge in this game, and several crowd control abilities and weapons.

Hellbugs are dangerous.

At least you didn't actually have an arm or leg removed after your encounter with them. Your character forever hopping, until you strap on a pegleg. Then you have to adjust your view as you run, because otherwise you run in slow circles, the pegleg outpaced by your regular leg. And you think back to that time when you had two legs and you say to yourself, "I wish I'd dodge-rolled, like, twice, and I'd have been fine".

Hellbugs are very easy to herd and avoid. Don't try to make it even easier as a kneejerk reaction to the learning process.

Yeah no love for this thread I love trolling the hills of paradise and for those like me they understand Hellbug killing is a way of life learn to roll. Last night me and hellbug Arkfall five archers, seven warriors, and a **** load of skitterlings it's gone I am still alive. How many times did I die.....none learn to roll.

hell bugs are coming from under the ground. It's reasonable they can spawn anywhere close to you. If you are surrounded by archers, use decoy or flash grenade.

just roll. You want stunlock try fighting a couple elite matlock 99ers at close range. **** sucks.
