Not a cease fire, but the full end of the war paper work from all sides. It also includes the fact that word of the Battle of Defiance has to spread, and things like the Internet and 24/7 news doesn't exist as a thing since the terraformers messed up the planet in Jan of 2030.

Hitler and Stalin also signed a peace treaty, both were preparing for war against one another. In fact it is even beyond insane if Russia had won when you think about it. They would be all over Europe and in all likely hood it would have trumped the atrocities committed by the **** regime by a large if not huge margin. Really a scary and wicked time, how people got be manipulated and how millions could disappear with propaganda making people never raising a question. They sell weapons to the one who ignores the laws of Defiance and wants to use of Votan law.
The mayor and the city council are stupid to allow something like that to happen.
The VC has "ambassadors" all over the planet that influence the population in favor of the VC.
In earth history we had something like that more than enough to know how this will end. Settlers with more advanced technology moving "peacefully" to a new area, start trading with the natives and soon after that the natives are killed or driven into reservations or used as slaves (or if they are lucky they are simply turned into powerless consumers, if needed into drug addicts and if the natives ban drug trading a nice war will reestablish that).
The VC is on the track of doing exactly the same.

An in 1986 11 years after the end of the Nam War I was serving with Nam Vet. Desert storm had smaller number of boots on the ground as compare to Pale Wars. Also early you stated the whole army mutiny, when lore says one unit/location mutinied.Quote:

Wanted the emphasize that the treaty doesn't mean anything. From the very link you made those in command have a certain view of these civilians. Sometimes certain rumors or stories take their own life and that probably happened in the case with the "defiant few" far more idolized and glorified than the truth is. That much you also get from the game and the way Nolan and Cooper talk about it. They did a good thing, but they also did the worse to do it. Anyways with most factors unknown, apart from having a similar situation globally to WW2 or the cold war in terms of opposing powers, bad communication between powers, bad media or press or awareness of civilians the situation is likely quite volatile. There are also probably no good economic relations/ ties between the E-rep and the VC, thus looking at the history and where we are now, might tell us a lot of what to expect.
With time passing it is more and more likely for a conflict to start again. The Mag-Lev would actually be a great way to unify people and places across NA (too bad the VC is down south). The only thing I see in the long run from both parties to start warring again is a common enemy. A wake up call we fight for the same thing in the end (quite the typical cliche in many sci fi)?
