EGO rating is completely useless in term of equipment/skills.
Seriously , I'm ego 700+ and the weapons/shields are the same since ego 20.
I sometimes find a weapon with a synergy , but they are like 10% melee or 5% reload. Got two legendaries yesterday , one was a grenade launcher with the awesome power of fire rate +10% with a max clip of 1 , the other was a sniper rifle with the same stats as the sniper rifle I got at the beginning + melee +15%.
WOOHOO !!! LEGENDARY !
I'm so glad I grinded my way up to something as satisfying as 80 points of damage.
More : hours and hours of grinding to equip a skill that is barely visible in term of stats on the character and do not improve at all the fun factor of the game (WOOHOO !! 3% ammo regen on critical kill...).
I'm halfway through the campaign and I feel I'm done with the game , the characters do not evolve one bit , and the loot system is the most boring I've ever seen since you only find level 1 weapons.
Pursuits are pointless grinding without any rewards since all you got is more EGO and I'm certainly not pushing this to ego 4000 only to find weapons with melee+ 16%.
This was a fun game , until I realized there was no excitement or surprises usually found in the loot system of that kind of game.
