Now that you mention it, I was wondering why almost none of the weapons I find have any weapon bonuses. Im at ego rating 1700ish.

That actually is exactly my point there is no ETA I would like one. Even if the dates change without explanation. It shows progress is being made or at least attempted. Probably not alone here on that. I am not much of a church goer and I would like something more than faith to sustain me.
Sledge,
I sure hope that Trion pays you a lot of money for having to read and respond to the comments in this thread.
"Illegitimi non carborundum"!!
Ya but the "general community" will have the biggest hissy fit of all time whenever they don't meet the expected date. I'm going to guess you weren't around for the whole 1.010 patch fiasco. Dev's said they would release the patch on a "Monday or possibly next day" for the patch. People went freakazoid when Monday came around and no patch was released. (like seriously freaked the heck out. I saw a post as early as 8:00 PM PST Sunday DEMANDING to know where the patch was because it was Monday for "them" ) The patch released the very next day. Trion said they hoped to have the second big patch at the end of April. People wen't freakazoid when that wasn't met either (though not as bad as the first time). I think Trion would be wise NOT to release any ETA what so ever.
I don't see what the fuss is about wanting 1.2 info nownow. I'm perfectly content to give them as much time as they like to get it right the first time.
Because if it isn't this time, hellfire. The reaction to the previous pvp map snafu was just a prelude to the reaction I'm sure they expect to 1.2 being like 1.1.
Patch sounds good. Better than nothing.
It will be good to play Freight Yard finally, never managed to get in when it was up before.
Might want to include one little added line in patch 1.014
•vehicles will now automatically disappear when entering an arkfall
If you could have that ready by patch 1.014 that would be great......yeah....
I love it when people park right ontop of where a hellbug hive is about to pop up. Seeing them fly always makes me smile.
Good to know. Would be nice to play Freight Yard...actually I'm lying...I just want my Delaware Freelance gear tbh. For all I care Freight Yard can disappear for all eternity after that.
Just kidding, though I do want my DW gear more than FY...I just happen to need FY, so I guess I'm half kidding? A 'lil bored maybe?
1.2? What are you using, a time machine? Next major patch is 1.020.
Yeah, don't need to be reminded of that little sneak preview where they were say "there's 9 pages of notes" and that this is just a preview and not the finale patch notes, then when the final patch notes rolls around, they were pretty much identical(I went back to look for the preview post and it vanished, kind of funny) Seems to be the running trend when they say something is going to change and it ends up being the same.
Rather be surprised instead of let down, again. So the bar is already low.
here is a video of devs working on patchs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GeMU60yi3dQ
Either they are really crafty, and like he said we are in a game made by men, men
Somewhere, in the deepest darkest pits of the trion offices.. there is a map.. with labels on it. This must be what they are referring to. That map is cursed and if any dev would speak of it ever again, a plague would be unleashed upon the world.
Most likely the reason why they have been dodging questions about it. All sorts of pointless questions that's pretty much common knowledge by now in the defiance community was answered in the livestreams, but the question about the labels on the map.. goes unanswered.
The illusive 'Frieght Magnate" achievement will finally be unlockable.
I'm excited, I didn't have a chance to try Freight yard when it can back up so I hope it's fun.
Wasn't it said somewhere that they were going to use alpha servers to test new patches? I would hope so, perhaps we could be more certain that far less new issues would arise in the patch.
exactly why I'm getting upset with the DEV team... i can deal with them saying sorry we weren't able to add certain things due to complications but to flat out refuse to answer to it and ignore that certain things were mentioned in the notes like we all read wrong is an entirely different thing.
Hahahaha! That is true.
Off topic, though, do you know where my forum name and sig come from?
Hint: The moment I realized in the game we would be killing massive amounts of "bugs" I thought it fitting. At first, I was thinking Hellbugs, but then I got to know how the Dev team works and it took on an entirely new meaning. ;)
I bought the "this is just a beta" speech, even repeated it a few times and gave people grief about judging the game before it went live. I even believed sledge when he said weapons and weapon stats weren't the same in the live game. Then I believed sledge when he brought up the 9 pages of notes and changes.
But once I hit like 1200 ego and downed nim (downed nim at about 1230 ego rating with every co-op done at least 10 times with every side mission done) I realized that I was so wrong then.
A great man once said "There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again." this quote comes to mind.
Bear in mind, the Starship Troopers book was used as base inspiration for the film. The two are as different in tone, style, and story as night is to day.
Incidentally, it's the same thing that happened with World War Z between the Max Brooks novel and the upcoming film.
But that's fine. Honestly, not every book translates to film very well. I can attest to this when I did several drafts of the Nine Princes in Amber screenplay for Warner Brothers in the late 1990s or so. The Chronicles of Amber was one of my favorite series of all time. I was friends with Roger Zelazny and learned a lot of the craft and business tips from him. But they most definitely did not translate directly into film format very well.
I was already moved on from the job by the time Warner Brothers just let the rights lapse.
It took only 40 days or so to notice the message spam, sigh. At least it's finally going to be fixed, it was annoying. Though again, really small patch notes.
