It's entirely possible that the BBBG pattern is more probable than others because of the way the algorithm works. Maybe the first 2 items have a higher chance of being blue or purple, and the last one green or orange. But again, unless you start to precisely keep track of what you get, you can only speculate.
What I do know is that I just got my 5th orange (a VBI guided launcher, no less) in the past week, over maybe 12 - 15 T4 lockboxes. So I just can't help but think that random is random.
Soon as i open a Tier 4 box from a lock box and the first is a blue i know the rest will be BBG ALWAYS.
But i find the Tier 4 Boxes from the store more random and i have found 4 off my 6 oranges from the store boxes,.
Only drawn orange during loot weekend when they bumped the odds on loot and lockboxes (I got 2 and have never got another since). How I regret I didn't grind scrip and arksalvage and bought a 100 T3 that weekend. Bought a couple of T4 with the keys you're getting from the replay missions and the missions themsleves last night.
First was g,g,g,b
Second was g,g,b,p
None with a good synery so all was scrapped for new arksalvage again.
When I buy T3, they are mostly b,b,p
Some rare ones gives g,b,b
So, my experience is that T3 gives more blue and purple than T4 does...
Since I started on may 8th I bought over 500 tier 3 boxes here is what I got:
3 legendaries:
1 courier
1 incubator
1 tacc auto pistol
75 purple
The rest blue or green
Other then the first 2 days I started playing the game it took me 2 months to get my 3d orange weapon
In the same time I also bought about 15 tier 4 boxes and got nothing but, purple, purple, blue/green, purple
