Just purchased the $149 Gamestop exclusive version of Defiance for PS3.

Ok you just put down 25$ so you would not have to pay as much when the game comes out.

Basically, yes, or to just hold your copy of the game. Collectors Edition games typically have a limited number of copies.

Yes this is the reason, they have a limited amount so I put down the $25 so Gamestop will hold my copy for 48 hours after its release.

I really can't believe the number of people who use Gamestop.

gamestop is the microsoft of gaming, really.
