every game now some neanderthal comes out of the woodwork and screams to the heavens about sueing the company for false advertisement. I'd love to see someone actually do this, not because I think they'd win but because the resulting youtube video of the fat gamer getting owned in court would become legendary.

were all playing in the same world except ps3 unless they finally got the nerf patch where on different shards/phases inside of the shard
where they say it cross platform play?
weather systems would melt the xbox/ps3

    100% true.
And this is precisely and legally called, False Advertising made for tons of players to rush on pre-orders.
Gearbox-Sega did the same exact thing with Colonial Marines, and now facing a full action class lawsuit by the Consumers/Players.

To be fair, the TV show doesn't look anywhere near as put together as advertised either. The town of Defiance looked more like a small progressive city then that shanty town they have now. It's like they rolled back the reconstruction efforts across both projects, and instead of a world of interwoven cultures, we get that budgeted wild west look instead.

If said feature is not done and ready to go, simply do not advertise it. Period. Same goes for our RPGs, whether through YouTube, Twitch, or Kickstarter video marketing. We do not reveal anything about the game that has not been developed, tested, approved, and which we know is going to be in the final version of the book.

And you know what? In my 10 years in that industry, I have never, not once, had a single customer, fan, or reviewer (even on the occasional bad reviews, as sometimes happens), accuse my company of not bringing to market the features we advertised.

Big, small, or in-between; video game, roleplaying game, collectible card game; the developers/manufacturers should be held accountable for providing every feature they advertise. If they don't, then any inhospitable environment that plagues them is of their own doing.

Successful law suits against Sega/Geabox or any other company does not make the industry inhospitable to indie and small developers. It simply sends the message of: the Consumer Protection Laws concerning advertising do apply to you as well.

Apparently you've never heard of Peter Molynexux (sp) the guy behind the fable series. He made it his life time goal to tout features which didn't exist and never would exist in the games. The first fable was notorious for promised features that were just flat out not included in the finished game. So many lies that ultimately Fable: The Lost Chapters was released.

OK so for me the HUGE issue is the removal of the episode missions. And the pursuits DONT COUNT.
We were supposed to have weekly missions that would have in show impact(the glowing crystal in Ep.1)
They yanked the missions with no info as to what was up and added the pursuits as a crappy substitute.

That being said a law suit is not going to fix this. So far I have gotten at least as much play time out of the game as any other. So I will jump in and out of the game untill more stuff is added/fixed.
