Well said OP! +1 Interwebs for you!

This is how I am key farming at the moment, minus the perks, but plus the occasional loot boost. Works pretty good, and is actually fun. Co-Ops and Emergencies in between ark falls net a lot of scrap to turn into keys.

No matter how many times I run some of the co-ops they just don't get old to me. Maybe it's playing with Randoms and adapting to their style (or lack of it, LOL) that keeps it fresh.

    Nice post op.

I need to do some of this. The only thing holding me back is the I'm sitting @ 45/50 inventory. That'd make for a lot of breaks during a coop to constantly salvage stuff.

I play the game because I like it, not to "collect" weapons.

They can nerf this process by simply decressing the amount of scrap you get or increasing the cost of the keys from 1000 scrap

Whatever method they choose I have already beaten all available quests and do not intend to play until I have more to complete, golden guns dont make a reall difference in pve anyways, most of their bonuses come from mods that arnt even in game yet.

    +1 internet to you!

Thank you kind sir. I posted this about a week ago and only today it gets noticed...or at least commented on.

Just go play PVP or spend 5 minutes in an arkfall. You'll get anywhere from 1-5 keycodes easily.

I wasn't agreeing with the abusing part, I was agreeing with the fact that they've been nerfing or removing things. second of all I play for fun as well SO SORRY your idea of fun is the only idea of fun!

    [Wall o' Text Ahead]

I am currently EGO 2369 and I think I might have ran through Mine 99 no more than 10-15 times total. I'm not big on repetitive grinding.(not to say I haven't done my fair share)

Scrapping equipment and breaking it down to Ark Salvage is both faster and more efficient than grinding Mine 99 ever was. However it might take just a tad bit more skill.

    4 White Items = 1 keycode
    2 Green Items = 1 keycode
    1 Blue & 1 White = 1 keycode
    1 Purple Item = 1 keycode
1 Orange Item = yeah right

Not every enemy drops gear and so far I don't think anything drops purple or orange. However tweaking your EGO Grid a bit and customizing your loadout can help improve the amount of drops you are awarded.

My current 'weapon leveling' loadout is equipped with Overcharge. But it is the perks that make all the difference, whatever main ego power you choose to use is fine. Depending on your EGO level, you may or may not have all these perks available to you. But I highly encourage unlocking them when you can. My perk setup for this class is Quick Charge, Killing Machine, Just Reward, Implosion, Pinata, Preparedness, and Regeneration. Although I recommend them all, there are only three that apply to farming gear (and in turn keycodes).
    • Just Reward - On a critical kill, there is a higher chance for the enemy to drop gear.
    • Implosion - On a melee kill, there is a higher chance for the enemy to drop gear.
    • Pinata - On an explosive kill, there is a higher chance for the enemy to drop gear.

With these three perks equipped and by focusing primarily on Critical Kills, I can usually generate enough gear from a single co-op instance to breakdown and buy 5-15 keycodes. Roadside emergencies and side missions like Mine 99, Port Stinson, Big Stone Reach etc aren't an exception. They are just as likely, however not as many blue items. Basically any enemy you kill by any of those 3 methods mentioned above has a higher chance of dropping gear.

I consider this the RIGHT way because you are constantly generating resources to buy keycodes no matter what you are doing (apart from PvP). On top of this, critical kills apply more HP toward leveling whatever weapon you are using. It is a win win.

I use a scavenger synergy weapon with two mods which also increase the drop chance buy 2 percent. Very good information to pass along. Cudo's on the post.

There is no secret that salvaging gear is the best way to get keycodes quickly. Last night, the co-op was glitched and it gave me about 40 keycodes. I was trying to complete the pursuit were you beat the hulker 3 minutes, but the server kept registering me as completing the level when I was half-way through. After the eighth time and a tier four lock box of junk, I reported the glitch.

I have only gotten two orange weapons after purchasing 30 tier four boxes. So having the outfit is more important to me in the long-run since my AR level is only at 16. Maybe when I fill it up I'll start to care about getting an orange rifle. You get between 1-5 keycodes for a co-op mission, and somewhere around 10 items to salvage. That is usually around 7-10 keycodes per co-op mission for myself. Now, there are some who are better than me and some who are getting as good as me so the drops will vary and the keycode rate will fluctuate a bit.

    Happy hunting!

For the record, an orange item gets you 1,250 in salvage. Traded in a weak orange pistol by mistake during the first week of the game being out.
