There was a patch released after launch that replaces nearly half of the data in your Defiance directory. Since your disc has an earlier build of the game (and because Trion uses a completely inefficient patching method that we could go as far as labeling "ridiculous"), that's going to add a lot to your download time, unfortunately, despite the game only being out a month.
I wish I could say it's due to the sheer amount of content and bug fixing that's happened since launch, but that would be complete B.S..
Fortunately, it's still fun enough to play (particularly as a new player where you have nothing but new content to consume). I need to find a good sale so I can grab another copy for a friend who absolutely refuses to buy Defiance at its current price.
Don't ever play PvP it's rage inducing and half broken. Pretend it doesn't even exist like the devs have.
Well seeing as Sledgehammer has played PvP on his live Stream twice in the last three days, I hardly doubt they are ignoring it. Not to mention they are bringing about a ton of PvP content soon....Quote:
