had a purple ar drop from a mob during the first week or could have even been beta before launch. since then nothing better than blue.
Than show us how the real one looks or shut up. Noone benefits from your "no it's not that way and I am not telling you how it really goes".
Oh, and please, this is not FB or twitter. You can write more than one short sentence. Ecpecially since your are manager and not janitor.
ive gotten one orange from killing a mob, it was in explosions 101 the hulker, he dropped an orange nade
Rare loot implies that there is some form of "chance" or "probability" being used to determine if loot will or will not drop. The reality is that based on the on the current build it is painfully obvious that some other process or system is being used currently to determine all aspects of how loot is distributed to a player. Here are some examples;
1.) As previously posted, it is impossible to receive anything above a green from a standard mob. I have 50k plus kills and have never seen anything above a green drop. Now I theorize that Trion sets limits based on the mobs XP(Difficulty) to limit people who have found ways to exploit their bug laden game. I would be willing to bet that an elite black lung CAN drop more than a blue, but only if you were in a full group(as difficulty of mobs increases, loot probably does also) AND every loot boost known to god. As a side note, since I have been forced to run coops endlessly I have found that there seems to be a lack of randomness in the drops from same tier mobs. Look at the co-op that ends with the bioman/adrino junkie(can't remember the name). During the co-op, you will kill 5 different, standard issue biomen. Now, I feel that with running this instance roughly 30 or so times I have a decent sample size, and I can tell you that the drops are relatively stagnant. The first 3 biomen typically drop 0 loot, or possibly a white that I fail to remember. The last 2(guy on the bottom of the ramp after Sgt. Nuniez(sp?) and the guy on the stairs) consistently drop greens or blues. Try it, you'll see how "unrandom" the drop rate is.
2.) Lockboxes - so in the last 2 weeks I have opened probably 10 or so tier 4's. I have received in EVERY one of those lockboxes 3 blues and one green. I can only assume that the randomness is in the load out for the boxes, but that seems a little shady.
There are probably countless other examples, but I think what it really comes down to is Trion is trying to save a sinking ship. They are putting systems in place to limit or eliminate numerical possibilities BECAUSE they can not control how the population exploits their system. People figured out how to get farm keycodes? nerf that into the ground. People figured out how to farm mobs endlessly? Eliminate the possibility of getting higher tier loot off of low level monsters. All in all, these are very obvious solutions to cover up the true problem.
Yes but:
1. Push to talk has to be enabled on in your player settings.
2. You have to have won 10 freight yard's in 1 hour on that same day.
3. You have to have killed the monolith in a 25 man group before doing any story missions.
4. A Syphon archer has to spew fire.
5. Greg has to drink a whole bottle of Westvleteren 12 during a friday show and still shoot straight.
Only when all of those conditions are met can a legendary drop.
Tongue in cheek but the point is that saying it "can" drop from any mob with a loot table doesnt:
1. Distinguish which mobs have a loot table.
2. What other conditions must be made in conjunction with the "can drop".
3. The extremely low chance of it (if its .001% chance then for example it might as well be no chance in the spirit of everyone's hopes). (Greg made a wonderful comment friday for example about weighted random that I think is at the core of what people are in angst about here).
Completely uncalled for. Very rude.
The man was nice enough to come in here and give info. Yeah, it is the company line. That is because he is an employee. There is no reason to doubt his veracity, honesty, or integrity. None of his "overlords" would give a rats *** if he ignored this thread.
On topic.
I have three orange. 1 from drop box preloot nerf, one from random preloot nerf, one post.
And to be honest I don't know why anyone cares. The stats are barely improved for rarity. Orange is not even remotely worth getting all "knickers twisted" over.
Yeah the drop rate is low.
So what big deal.
Oranges do not drop from mobs. Blues do drop in coops but never oranges. I think I may have had one purple.
I have had many oranges as I have been fortunate with lock boxes, but bosses dropping oranges would be nice.
