Will snipers be favored by gameplay?
    Hi everyone,

after watching the 6 minute gameplay video on youtube I was left behind with the lingering feeling that I should definetely play with a sniper rifle (or at least scoped assault rifle) contrary to my usual preferences in class based shooters (I usually play heavy weapons...).

It just seemed to me that aiming was really difficult (it might have been a scene where players where using controllers and not mouse/keyboard though...) because most of the targeted enemies where quite tiny and that shotguns and heavy weapons just didn't have the necessary damage output to make up for close range and low firing rate.

What's your opinion on the matter? Do you think scoped will be the way to go too?

Really no way to tell. Id like to give everything a shot. I tend to play the fast characters, runnin' and gunnin'. The game is a Run 'n' Gun style game, so I feel if anyone tries do nothing but snipe (there will be a lot who try) they better be good. All I need is a quick cloak sprint up to you close and blast ya' with a shotgun or mow you down with an SMG. I feel the range of 'classes' will be pretty balanced for numbers though. Like I said above though, no way to tell till we jump in the game at launch.

    Serpentine, serpentine, serpentine!

Basically if you keep moving in an erratic back-and-forth motion as you close in on your target, it'll be improbable that the Sniper will be able to keep up with you enough to shoot you. Grenades are your friend, as the many videos have shown. Also, you can sneak up on a sniper with a cloak ability (which I assume most have access to?). If all else fails, I heard this game has rocket launchers...so, there's that...

Cloak is one of the 4? abilities we get from the EGO. We can only have one EGO ability active at a time though!

I doupt that Sniper rifles will have the same rate of fire as normal rifles. What I am guessing is that Sniper Rifles would have greater potential for DPS (Damage Per Second) if you correctly hit with every shot, but it would have less DPS than a normal rifle if you are less than, lets say, 80% accurate.

At least thats how it works in most games.

Interesting, you have a nice set up. I might just have to find your guild and follow you around for the heals. :)

every set up will have its advantages and disadvantages so we will just have to see when the time comes. I know i will be trying out sniper but probably will end up going LMG or assault..
