learned something new about my youngest brother

So my youngest brother came into town today. he waited until yesterday to tell us we was planning to visit... but that's not relevant to this...

My younger (i'm oldest of 3, so, younger, and youngest) brother took him to a local film festival... apparently Youngest demanded that they leave barely an hour into it, as when i got home from my own movie watching goodness, he was complaining that the film festival was trying to force "the liberal agenda" on him. because one student-made short film was about gay marriage.

I do believe Youngest is long over due for an *** kicking, before i let him leave town.

i am not sure any more. he used to be all for everyone being allowed to be happy with whoever made them happy. but his comments about the film fest tonight has me worried he's fallen in with the wrong crowd over the years that Younger and i have lived away from him.

Well if you are serious about trying to convince him to change his views, any overly aggressive approach would be pointless. Humans tend to reflect emotions and overall moods from those around them. If you get angry with him for being close-minded(which btw is hypocritical. Understanding his views rather than simply judging them is far more useful.) expect an angry resistance. I would suggest trying to understand why he feels the way he does. If you approach the subject with such understanding, that understanding will reflect back to you (in theory :P). Of course things might not be so easy but a pacifistic approach is best. All of this is my own opinion of course.

turns out he was just making up excuses.. something about being tired after spending 20 hours on a greyhound, the lightweight.

btw, wrath... 3 brothers.... we only get to see Youngest maybe once a year if all of our vacation times and paychecks line up right to hang out. we don't bother with excuses for knocking each other around, it's just a good way to get caught up with each other after 10+ months of minimal contact. if you have brothers of your own i'm sure you have your own inter-personal "ritual" after spending large amounts of time apart. "the family that bleeds together" and all that.

also, he's shipping off to basic soon so it'll be even longer before i get to knock heads with him, gotta get it in while i can! (and before he learns how to beat me, naturally)

no i was just going to use that as the excuse, he's over-due for an *** kicking anyway for blowing us off for Mardi Gras because of a job he had already put in his 2 weeks notice for.
