For someone who is on the Forums a lot you seem to only have 107 posts.

I'm pretty sure if they needed someone to Mod, they wouldn't take the ones who create threads about it....

Actually to be a forum manager you just have to post announcements twice a week, generally ignore everyone and close, lock threads without reading them. (I want to write /sarcasm but that's kind of what they do)
The moment you don't want it you'll get it.
Lose your keys stop looking for them and you'll find them. Works everytime.
