Game becoming monotonous - 7th time thru while waiting for DLC...

Don't get me wrong - I love the game - I'm on my 7th time thru the mission line, but it's getting a bit motonous playing the same thing over and over while waiting for the 1st DLC. I'm even noticing less people playing - nowhere near as many people at arkfalls, etc. Don't let things drag out too long before the DLC - you will lose people to other games. Is that what Trion wants???

While I'm giving you feedback - you say you want feedback - weapon drops/rarity/lockboxes - lockboxes should give you something other than what you find running around in the game - especially if you're buying tier 3 or 4 boxes - not white and green stuff that you get from run-of-the-mill enemies. A lot of people play looking for legendary - that's part of the challenge - but when the drop table is so slim that many people feel legendaries are just a myth they can get discouraged enough to quit. I've gotten 7 legendaries so far myself, but they don't seem to be much better than the weapons I've picked up elsewhere. But I've also seen lots of posts from people who have yet to find a legendary.

I'm EGO 2308, but not sure I see myself playing to EGO 5000 with the way things are looking at this point. Give us something to sink our teeth into soon!!!

....7 times through?? geez... I'd take some time to focus on pursuits and change things up a bit, if you havent already. You are right though, it doesnt feel like theres much to keep people interested in the long term.

First step is to step away and stop doing the main missions over and over and over.... 0_0

My 2nd time through felt like pounding nails into my forehead, how on earth did you manage to do it 7 times?

You are either really stubborn or you thought it was going to become fun somehow the more you did it.

You have any mental conditions? :) It should have gotten 'monotonous' during the second or third run through. I do admire your resolve tho!

7th time o.o? I would have just started a new character before then just for the hell of it.

You answered your own idea... anything would get monotonous 7 times through. Heck there's even a thing in marriage called the 7 year itch. I don't think any game creators ever planned on any player to pass 2-3 times through (and that's usually to get missed trophy's)

Most pursuits are done; faction challenges - other than pvp & time trials - also up to date; just been re-playing looking for good gear. Game has a lot of potential - definitely better than Call of Duty & Borderlands - much more to do with Defiance, but still getting to where I'm losing interest.

I'm having issues forcing myself to go through a second time even after taking a break.

I'm finding it monotonous on my 1st playthrough! I think it is the pursuits mainly refreshing themselves so you have to do them again and again after a number of days....

It's more the way you play the game that is monotonous...And maybe you didn't notice but this month we will get an update and the 1st DLC will follow later...;)

The whole point I'm trying to make is that they shouldn't let things drag out too long - I'm well aware of the major patch and DLC coming after that, but waiting too long for new content is detracting from the game. Maybe I didn't make myself clear enough???

Dude. There's no monthly fee. Just walk away from the game and come back when they add stuff. lol

Why don't you do something other then playing the bloody story line over and over, im just under 2.6k and iv only done it once (and then a couple more missions). I'm still finding stuff to do, even if its just leveling guns.

No-one should play the same thing every day, mix it up a bit. Other games do exist, then come back to defiance when you have played a few halo matches, or made people commit suicide with there own rockets in black ops.

People have a tendency to go OCD play 18 days play time on a game which has just came out, then complain about lack of things to do... anyone else see the problem there?

Speaking of 18 days play time, half the people on this came come from a COD background.... and their the ones complaining and all they do on COD is think there the shizznit making montages and getting to level 55 10times. /slaps face

As for less people playing, iv not noticed that, infact if anything there is more, all bumming my frav spots -_- /shakes fist.

Do what I did and take a break. Still trying to build my empire in Terraria! Will recruit minions if they have the game.

Pushing through main quests is good for xp and much Less monotonous than arkfalls imo and usually quicker, the brunt of them are for 3500 xp too i think. I'm on my second time through and i'm probably gonna do it a few more times, considering i have no sidequests left and pursuits reset enough as it is, most i have left is some outfits i don't want. Nothing wrong with doing it 7 times it seems pretty logical for grinding, and its an mmo its About waiting for content, players often get excited preparing loadouts etc..
