Please pick from a very long list of Good Ideas that never quite caught on.
Apocalyptic settings and Dodge Challengers.
Giant scary one hit kill robots.
Hellbugs of course as well.
for the game alone......Freight Yards and Shotguns.
You put the freight yard in.
You put the freight yard out.
You put the freight yard in and you shake it all about.
You do the Defiance pokey and you turn yourself around.
That's what it's all about!
I will remember that it's very chilly in St. Louis at night and that Amanda doesn't wear a bra.
Whining spoilt brats like Whitecell on the forum will be how I rember the forum. As for the game? The bugs and FUN I'm having with it.
I will remember the hatred I feel towards Tommy for touching my woman XD
The marketing team will live in infamy. They proved the old adage "you can't polish a turd" to be false. They sure did polish this baby real sweet like.
They also picked a nice shade of red lipstick for this pig of a port. *oink-oink /squeal!
Honestly? As a big fail.
After many weeks of not touching the game I logged in a few days back only to see no change at all.
After having spent a hundred bucks on that game (PC version + DLC pack), I can safely say that that was a ****ing waste of my money. Nothing else.
Btw, have you heard that Trion laid off 1/2 of their staff? (it is said, that the hardest hit is on the San Diego studio, which is responsible for Defiance)

Here the reddit thread: http://www.reddit.com/r/Defiance/com...half_of_staff/ , which Sledge commented on.
So, Rift then.
I think the music and opening sequence are particularly memorable. Up there with "Burn the land and boil the seas, you can't take the sky from me." It'll definitely be remembered for hellbugs.
But show or game, Datak Tarr is the most memorable character, to my mind.
Hopefully Defiance (both game and show) will be remembered for its sheer endurance and a small band of loyal supporters (the real life Defiant Few?); trying to stay the course against a relentless tide of unyielding criticisms.
A fun, decent game that attracted a bad crowd.
Holy hell you people are angst filled. It's like trion is your parent and you feel the need to really lash out.
/wtfism
I'll remember the game for the sheer amount of players I see at events.
I'll remember the forums for having the highest volume of sixty dollar sycophants. It's the never ending circle jerk of fanboy's and anti fanboys whining; and going to battle over the pettiest of things.
Ah memories.
I'm bad crowd for wanting a functioning product with functioning support.
Freight yard,20 minutes.If I don't make it,start without me.
Ray Charles could see the unfortunate truth about Defiance.
Freight Yard!
Wait ...
It will be remembered as the game that, despite its shortcomings and ultimate failure to catch on after an extremely shaky launch, showed that there is a market for mmo's on the consoles.
I personally like Defiance but I also understand the reason the game is getting average review scores and why so many players feel frustrated by the rampant bugs. I don't see this game living into the next gen. of consoles but I do see some more and better mmo's being released much earlier on those machines. If Defiance would've come out a few years after this generation of consoles released, as is, it probably wouldn't still be around but it wouldn't matter because there would be at least two better mmo's out right now. Maybe more.
A fun average game that could have been great.
It will never be great; too late; but it still could be good.
+1
It is the understanding of exactly what you said in the first paragraph. This market is starving for a good mmo, but not like this Not like Defiance. Layoffs are not normal, I played a mmo for 5+yrs and never saw a layoff despite the huge company name, active CM's, and GM's constantly visiting in game to give out free stuff, and duel the public for fun prizes.
On console, player don't know what to expect unless they go to the roots of mmo's (pc) and do alilttle research so they can understand whats considered content, and whats not.
