Indeed I really liked his giving us the extra info on Von Bach that still hasn't been made public otherwise, really. :)

I would have to agree. It was obvious to anyone who beta tested this game that it wasn't ready. They rushed to release it due to the TV show. The beta for this game was the worst I've ever seen.

Ive seen worse betas sadly. What frustrates me the most was that as earlier as January on Alpha people were complaining about many of the things they're still saying they're going to fix "Soon(TM)". That in itself reflects much more than the weekend betas.

    Can't disagree with that.. but..

SWTOR is based on a mahoosive IP, with a hardcore following that would buy a turd even if they knew it was a turd so long as it had light-sabres, and a Star Wars badge on it somewhere. Notwithstanding all that, look what happened there

I'm not sure Defiance as a whole fledgeling IP can get away with such shoddy behaviour yet (if ever).. I might be wrong, but that's my take on it..

No i dont think your wrong . I actualy agree whole heartedly. And i believe (just my own oppion) that is the exact reasoning behind the layoffs. this is the first project of its kind with the cross platform and media tie in.

And yes i enjoy the game but it was definatly not reaching the standard they had preset to everyone before launch. I honestly think this project was to important to allow it to go down in flames because the current team couldnt produce the needed results.

So i think they pushed them out to get new blood. And the fact they did do it what 5 weeks into launch? That to me says they are trying to turn things around and get them back on track.

Again i have nothing but my own oppion on this to back it up. but i been around the block many times and my gut says this is whats happening. Not a banckrupt not a fail but a restructure to try to get things back flowing.

that's interesting to know Rift wasn't touched in the layoff's, again no official source leads me to believe that can't be the case. Even if it is, I feel bad for the people who got fired. The game is fun, although it's been a mess since it launched, maybe getting some new blood in there is the best situation.

I still hold out hope for what we'll see in the future, maybe the issue had to do with too many chiefs and not enough Indians. With less people on board, it could be a breath of fresh air for bug fixing and content development. Although only time will tell.

Jeez why do I keep typing Lawoff instead of layoffs,

Lets just hope the people who got laid off bounce back and find something else.

Keep in mind they still have to release season pass content unless they somehow refund everyone's season pass, which I doubt. Everyone is acting like this is the end of Defiance, wasn't there a tweet saying they had a 60 day advanced notice before they were laid off? If that's the case then Defiance's launch had nothing to do with the layoffs as they would have happened either way.
