But thats just it, not everyone see's it that way. My point is, many casual gamers dont get a sense of accomplishment after that, we just feel angry and dont want to play the game anymore. If im trying to enjoy a story, what enjoyment would I get from being stuck for 2hrs on trying to figure out how to open a 12 button trigger device to open a door, that has to be entered in a certain order, and all the clues for the orders were buried under the last 15hrs of game play. None if you ask me, even after getting that door open, I dont feel accomplished, I just feel angry. By the time I got through the door, I dont even remember what I was doing before that.
Now when I sit down and go, there must be an easier way to do this, so I go to the internet to find out, well now im just lazy. Im lazy cause I didnt want my story ruined and forgotten with a dumb game mechanic? Im a whiner cause instead of sitting there for 2hrs figuring it out, I was smart enough to go to the internet and just look up the combination. Well if thats how you feel, I guess it sucks to be you because this is not going away. I refuse to sit stuck on a problem for hours and hours when I can just go look it up and be through it with no muss, no fuss, and no undue anxiety.
And like another guy said, there are other parts of gaming that you just cant go look up. Like in PVP learning someones tricks and using them against him. No 2 people will play a game the same way. So as I said again, its not the players faults, this fault lies with the developers for not keeping up with the increasing skill line of the gaming community and the freedom to go research so we dont have to spend hours on monotony.
