Why are we paying for this?

So here we are again, another week of fails and dissappointments. Bonus loot weekend? that was a fail, and now we get word of upcoming dlc that will cost us $10 if we, the players, want to enjoy. My question is why? why do we have to pay for this stuff when we have been going through everything trion has been putting us through? Hard system resets, system crashes, disconnections, I've spent $20 on bits in the game only to have my money taken and not given the bits. And what does trion say about this? " where sorry for the inconvienence, please try purchasing from the store again with a smaller amount." ??? !!! Are u serious?! One of my friends on ps3 has had to send his system to sony to be repaired because of hard resets caused by this game. I have had to hard reset so many times I've lost so much data from my ps3. I've seen the website (you know the one) that ppl go to to talk about this game, and me along with thousands of other players have come to the same conclusion....we are actually loosing money playing this game, and getting nothing in return. Some ppl have even purchased the season pass only to realise that the money went through but....yep you guessed it....no season pass. I'm happy to know i'm not the only one going through the trion "game shame" but it really is making me wonder....is this accidental.....or not? anyway I will be joining the rest of the thousands of players selling this game and moving on to something better and trustworthy. I'll see you all on world of starcraft for the ps4 in 2014. And once again, i'm getting to your emails as soon as I can but please remember i'm only one person and it takes time. Stay tuned for the news on the upcoming court battle of trion vs the players, lol, yeah its coming soon. Trion really shouldn't have rushed a game that says it's an mmo shooter only to have no mmo eliments and so much wrong with the game. Goodbye for now gamers.

I am not paying for anything at the moment - I did pay for it and there is on going content, updates, fixes, 2 years (we hope) at least of new storyline.

I can see the frustration if you too time off to play today and they are fixing the problems people have been complaining about, but it should be online soon - then we can complain about new problems.

As for system crashes,I honestly have lost count.Alarming is the running tally

Why? Simple, I enjoy the game. I don't have these unrealistic standards people seem to have that expect every new game to be perfect. If you don't expect these kinda hiccups with new games, go play Monopoly.

Because we can an do, I cannot go into how many crashes an items I have "lost" that were not in the matrix, but I am an will be always A Defiance Lifer ~mJ~ So Happy Hunting in whatever game you find, an remember to erase your forum name on your way out

i thought i was the only one experiencing full system crashes. Has anyone been having the sound go completely out unless you restart?

I had the sound completely go but it returns after a while. Seems happen more so on Arkfalls.
Did read somewhere on here that it happens if you use the Optical Output which i do to my surround amp.
My mate only uses HDMI and has never had the sound go.

I also get the system lock up now and then but to be honest its not as bad as it was with Battlefield 3.
I mainly get it on Co-op games myself.

I dunno; I played the beta, and knew exactly what Defiance was going to look like, and what I was getting into when the game launched. I think the question here is more "why would YOU be paying for this stuff?"

The pay-DLC is pure bonus stuff, and has been so described since well before the game was launched (as mentioned several times, each DLC pack will also contain some accessible freebie elements). If you buy any of them, you have no-one to blame for that purchase but yourself; just like the buyer is the one responsible for purchasing the game in the first place.

Yes, all MMO's have problems when they first get released. You should have known that before buying the game.

Go ahead and sell it, but Defiance will get better. It just takes time.

I for one have never had a hard reset next, You are NOT MANDATED to buy the DLC, if you have purchased the online pass through the PSN you have a "reciept" if and when its released and you dont get it file a complaint then, as with all MMO your not going to get perfection in TWO FRIGGIN MONTHS! So yes do us who like this game and support it a favor don't come back to Defiance delete your toon and all will be good

Might as well ask why people pay practically the same amount for a bottle of water or some fancy lil samich, to see a movie at a theater, or my personal favorite 100 times the cost of this for a ten cent stone.

I bought the game this past saturday and till now (monday night) i havent been able to log into the servers. Still getting that Critical notification where the server has timed out.
I wish i could get a refund on this game but since I opened it they wont take it back.

Don't watch p*rn on your ps3. You won't have to send it back.

As for them not refunding bts they said no they dont if its there end caused it. Stealing in my book...

check your ports I played all weekend long no prob, the only time it was down was when they were working on the patch

i wont ...anyways ...u paiod for a $60 game ...u got a $60 game . if you want more pay for the dlc ...if not go play wow. why cry? the game is worth $60 and until u hit all season 1 complete dont say u dont have anything to do.
