PS4 or Xbox One? What will your affect your decision?
So, now that the Xbox One has been revealed, some of us will have to make a decision in regard to which next-gen console to purchase. I was wondering how everyone is leaning, and what factors affect their choice.

Myself, I'm not sure. On one hand, I've played Microsoft consoles almost exclusively. I did at one point purchase a PS2 strictly to play Everquest Online Adventures, cause I'm a big EQ fan and it was a PS2 exclusive. With that said, I think for me, it comes down to the game selections.

Specifically, I want MMO's. Be it Defiance-style hybrids, traditional fantasy rpg stuff, etc. - I love being able to play MMOs on consoles. At this time, I suspect the PS4 will be more catering to this particular taste, and am considering making the switch. That said, if it turns out that the Xbox One has lots of MMO plans, I may stick with Microsoft.

    Thoughts?

Honestly, I'll eventually own them all, but the Xbox One reveal today was awful. Like... really bad.

They better have an incredible E3 in a few weeks.

Actually it has no effect here as I want a Ps4 and my husband will have the xbox no matter what.
If it came down to it I would say Ps4 now since I recently returned to Ps3 since a few years ago.

I am not happy with the install game no used games is horrible, it's only greedy.
I would say what makes a person happy go for it.

I have bought Ps2 also for the series of dynasty warriors games.

Xbox One right now has left a super bad impression on me, I'll wait till E3.

I'm choosing PC. Not interested in a PS4, and Microsoft's policy on backwards compatibility and used games turns me off the Xbox One.

If Kingdom Hearts III gets confirmed for PS4 I won't be going with Xbox1.

well id definitely will be getting a ps4, i read a thing about the how the new xbox was gonna make it to where in order to play games you had to be online, not just for online games but to be able to play regular games, i think that in itself would be a huuuge turn off for anyone as it shows that microsoft is getting really greedy

I didn't see the unvieling, so why did it leave a bad taste in everyones mouth? Just curious. That's hilarious that they called it the Xbox One though.. I googled a picture, holy Eff! That thing is ugly as mess, lets hope it doesnt screw up like the 360 did at launch..

Whoever is making the decisions on names and the look needs to be fired, not that its important, but damn.. come on.

Ps4. I have always preferred Sony over Microsoft/Xbox.

    Sony = Exclusive Games = PS4

Microsoft = Greed = One always Online Console

Actually the Game Companies decided if they want their games to require you to be online all the time, but still I hate the fact they can choose.

I personally gave up on sony during the PS2/Xbox time. Since then, Sony has managed to get hacked 3 times resulting in over a month of down time, and only produced a handful of intriguing exclusive titles. Online play has always been smoother on Live over PSN, which is worth the $5 a month to me. This years reveals showed who has done their work.

Xbox One-Check out this console, the games, the features, the specs etc...

PS4-Check out this controller!.... that's it...

    that's my take.

yep, and when i read about how xbox was gonna do that with their games, i felt really uneasy about it plus i started feeling bad for a lot of the xbox users out there...there was so much rage on the post about it, hopefully microsoft will be wiser and not implement that standard, ill try to find the link

Pretty biased, PS4 showed off gameplay and specs, not how it looked. Looks matter? maybe Xbox is for you xD. The had similar reveals, and PS4 is being revealed how it looks, in June? or july, i 4get what the teaser trailer said. I've played PS3 for along time, never had a problem with it, PS Plus is much better in terms of subscription via xbox "Pay to use internet" crap. Then again ima Sony bear, Microsoft can suck it, but i do respect them, when they make good decisions. So far, i havnt seen one with the new console..

Mmmmmmm PS4 or Xbox Betamax recorder? PS4 for me as lifting that thing would more than likely snap my spine (and I detest MS's greed)

well and 2 ps plus is about what $20 cheaper than xbox live?...i dont hate, but i prefer the standard free online service from psn as opposed to having to pay just to play or go online...same here, always have been a sony fan, its not partial but ive always been happy with their service and to me service is everything, ive heard so much negative remarks about xbox's customer service, that must be a real nightmare for xbl users, especially if you had your acct hacked, i remember 1 guy said it took almost 2 months to get his acct back, that...is not acceptable

It also wouldn't surprise me if they reinvent Live and charge double for it. After all according to CVG they will have a charge for playing pre owned games, greedy no?

I really hate the PS3 controller and that's the truth it's to tiny. I press the analogs together all the time.

you can double an xbox controller as a melee weapon too, just start spinning that bad boy around and watch the room clear lmao

Omg dude, Roflmao, you just brought up a hilarious memory for me.. I was in a tussle with some friends of mine, and im alot taller then they are, so one of them grabbed the xbox controller and smacked me with it.. Dude that thing hurt like effin' hell! I have been physically abused by xbox controllers.. I use to like the controllers honestly, i just don't like them for certain games. And i grew up playing PS so the controller, having not changed at all really since PS1, feels more natural to me. But i do have a PS3 controller with the same analog stick layout of a Xbox though, pretty cool controller honestly!~

the only issue i have is the turbo controller i have has real small analogs and i have big fingers, so it feels clunky and weird when i put my thumbs on the analogs lol

yeah my experiences with xbox controllers have been fraught with disaster as well and i agree, those clunky things hurt like hell when connecting upside 1s head lmfao

They are durable buggers. Once took a hammer to a knackered one and it refused to die. Took 8 or 9 hefty impacts before giving up the ghost. Could have been made from space metal mind

I'll be getting both. PS4 for exclusives (Infamous: Second Son) and Xbox One for friends.

Edit: Wait you have to pay an extra fee to play used game!? WTF!? Nvm, I don't care if all of my friends buy the Xbox One since there's no advantage of borrowing games from them anymore.

Xbox is probably trying to be cute, the XO, Hugs and kissess... Oh boy Microsoft.. Then again, just the name microsoft.. Micro... Soft... Hmm. Just observations. ;]

To be more on track, can someone post me the features announced for the X-O? For example PS4 gets the ability to record 15 mins of gameplay and yadda yadda all of that, what features does the X-O have to compete with Sony

Things of note, improved kinect, up to a thousand people on your friends list at once, set top box integration with recording capability, triggers will now have feedback, essentially seemless transition from game to movie to internet, with an equivalent of picture in picture<surf the web and play a game simultaneously>, 20x the current amount of servers.

things I'm sure both consoles will have, increased player numbers for games and persistent worlds

Side note-I hated the original xbox controller, the S was a life saver for the console in my mind, prior to that I was a sony fan.

PS4 hands down. I would even get a Ouya and Gamestick before the xbox one. Awful xbox reveal. Microsoft have to pull something extremly empressive out of the hat, to even have a chance to turn this around.

So true. I saw the NFL stuff, where you could have the information on one side, and thought that look nice. But I don't live in the US so nevermind.
