How can they require game installs and only give us 500gb!? That is not enough space. No where near enough space. Course we don't even get the 500gb because the thing has like 3 OS and all the tv garbage.

I may be the minority here but I will have the Xbox. In fact its the first console Ive looked forward to since the Nintendo64.
For years I have wondered why there has not been an all in one entertainment system like this. The fact that TiVo has not integrated a web browser by now is laughable.
My concerns are that it has Windows, the most hacked OS every year. Since it does have Windows, why stick with the XBox OS? A console based on Windows would solve many crossplatform issues and you really could play the exact same game on your console or PC on the same servers. Now that would be awsome. It would also be one less conversion for developers to deal with. Lastly is the hard drive size, a single terabyte wont hold my music and video collection on top of newly recorded TV and game installs. Maybe there will be room to connect to an external HD and or NAS for music and video. /shrug
Right now only the fact that I can carry through my avatar from the 360 appeals to me for the Xbox. Every other reason points me to PS4.
Wow. Im actually quite shocked to see that this thread has yet to blow up into a full blown console war. This is probably the 1st discussion ive actually seen where somebody hasnt lost their sh*t lol.
But Ima have to stay true to sony. The xbox reveal didnt do much for me. I want to play games, not watch tv. Cant wait for E3 though.
Same with me. I have always been an avid RPG lover (Shinning in the darkness for SEGA lol, and Shinning force) but never got into the PC scene so never really got a taste of anything online/RPG. Lots of couch co-op RPG's (FF3 for SNES was my cherry breaker)
That being said....boy am I disappointed with Xbox One....
Why the hell do I want a Kinect, tv watching, fantasy football machine????
We are gamers...
Stop focusing on all this stupid crap, or at the very least don't take away from the games. OMG I can watch TV live on my xbox?? Its easier to pay M$ way too much for a movie now??? WOW what a dumb thing to focus on....
I could not care less about something like that....so far I am NOT impressed with it.
I love my Xbox 360 (I admit I was a Sony fanboy until the 360, Ps and Ps2 were the best for their time) and I think I am sticking with xbox, but I am worried so far....
Edit: Also, I don't really care TOO much about how things look...but really....a big black box? thing is ugly as hell, who the **** thought of that trash?
Really some of you PC guys saying the PS4 is already outdated?
Well sort of can understand it but PS4 will be on par with some high end PC game machines
and for a lot less money. BTW PS4 will have DDR5 and xbox DDR3 i believe
Overall the specs of the PS4 are bigger then that of the xbox
Not sure if i will get the new system as soon as it comes out, pricing will make my decision
hopefully Microsoft will play their full hand E3 b/c yesterday didn't cut it
Ps4 never played xbox. Seen the reveal video it seems nest. Just doesn't hold an interest to me.
I'm not sure what people are worried about as far as xbox one having games.... They announced quite a few first party games, eight of which are new ips, for the first year.
They said that e3 would be about the games... So where is this "no games" stuff coming from? It's like some didn't pay attention to what was actually said.. And are just complaining about some bullet points they saw on a forum. :p

this sums up why i think i'm done with console gaming all together, really.
For me, regardless of what Sony unveil with features for the PS4 I'm sticking with the Xbox One. It was always a no contest :)
I will be getting the new Xbox. For one reason. GEARS OF WAR.
Sure. Wanna talk about backward compatibility ? Y'know, it's really pleasant sometimes to play oldies like Half-Life, Quake 3 or UT2004 on a recent computer... And I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy playing the Mass Effect serie on a 2020 gaming computer.
Oh, and about piracy on consoles, it exists. It is simply less visible because you can't connect to PSN/XBL with an hacked console.
I will be getting a Ps4 Sony is finally paying attention to its gamers.
By embracing indie games and the share button along with being 50% more powerful than 1
xbox has top dog syndrom they think they can be lazy charge for everything and people will pay... sony had to learn the hard way I suppose xbox will too.
PS Always online xbox means you now have to pay a subscription for xbox, ie live. and pay for used games twice lmao ps4 will win CONSOLE war. xbox will win best CABLE BOX!!!
oh yeah people complaining about defiance tv show just wait for HALO...
Unless its red vs blue I will not be tuning in...
I don't feel like I know a lot about PS4, but everything I know about XBox1 is giving me a bad feeling. It's like sitting down to dinner and everything's flavored wrong. I don't want to eat this. I'm hungry, but I don't want it.
Ever since motion controls gaming has been going in a direction that I don't want. As a no-talker all the new Kenekitc (WTFTypo?) stuff is alienating me.
I'm sad and I'm scared.
lol, watch it be like E3 2012.

Let's see how well live streaming really works when it's reliant on actual Internet infrastructure.... I wonder if it will automatically downgrade resolution if needed...
I'll be getting them both. But since I heard either one of them is backward capable, I wont be getting either one for a while after release. Give them time to get the bugs out and have a bunch of games out for them. Maybe like when the ps4 slim or whatever comes out.
E3 will come and go.. no matter what they show for cg game movies, the xbox hardware is severely limited in ability compared to ps4.. Sony will again outlast the competitor with hardware, allowing developers greater potential for a longer period of time, again...
it does matter what games they get, and how they play, but from a "all in one box" point of view.. welcome to the 3 generation old stuf sony has already been doing with their consoles, microsoft...
basically, sony only needs to focus on publisher support at this time, and improve their install base by an aggressive, informative advertisement campaign. They could easily do a whole "taste test" series on it and win by that alone as consumers tend to do little to no research and simply make purchases on what people say is good (without that product actually needing to be good..). Microsoft has made terrible hardware products for years now.. (except the surface pro.. this is actually well made) this is their last chance, imo, to make a console that won't catch fire.. at least they tried to solve the whaling banshee noises from the console...
PS4's looking way better since
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbWgUO-Rqcw
effectively excludes me, my interests, and what I look for in a gaming console. :P
But either way it will be a bit until I see a good library of games that interest me. Frankly I'm not done with the PS3 era yet, though. <.<
this is the issue many are having, while the ps3 most certainly could last another decade, if not more, sony is essentially forced into releasing a new console anytime somebody else says they will launch one.. it's like a "cold war" of consoles.
recall how until not too long ago ps2 games were still being made? or that no matter what xbox posts for sales on the 360, even the ps2 smokes it? It seems the PS hardware is almost always more advanced in a few ways than we are ready for. Had developers been able to understand system246 on the ps2, or worked hard to use the cell proc on the ps3 (the OS got in the way of that) intel and amd systems would by now see much more use of their multicore architectures. in all, the transition from ps3 to 4 isn't exactly massive, with the exception of ram and a slight bump to gfx processing, the rest we already have. I am glad I will be able to freely swap out my hdd's, and then use my bank of externals on top of that, I hope sony does a much better job with the OS this time around.

Just discovered that gif. Laughed so much that I had to change my pants.
I thought they left something out when they showed xbox one. The onboard ESRAM, pretty much levels the field. granted the overall power/bandwidth favors the ps4, but the xbox one will be able to do many more small things simultaneously, while the ps4 will be able to perform larger tasks better. net feeling, don't think that either will be supreme over the other, but still sticking with xbox. not to mention that many of the European tv providers have stated that they WILL be open to continue working with microsoft in making the xbox one compatible with their services.
