actual facts to why defiance is broken read this!!!!!! Wtf

Reports are flying in that Trion World layoffs today were a massive hit to the company. Numbers are coming in somewhere between 70% and 80%.

Updates across the net have indicated that Trion states these numbers are “exaggerated”, but have yet to provide the details.

A live stream by Trion Worlds today indicated that the Rift team was left “100% intact” which indicates and matches reports that the majority of the layoffs were at the San Diego studio, where Defiance the MMO was developed. This seems to be a gloomy day for anyone who has been following Defiance and playing it, but even more so for the entire team over there. Rumors were going around that staff was being escorted out of the studio and that senior leaders would lose severance pay, but Trion has indicated that these claims are 100% false.

A statement has been provided on the Trion layoff to multiple news agencies stating:

To best position Trion in a rapidly changing industry, we have reorganized our teams and are expanding our free to play offering. With Defiance, we delivered a great game that more than one million gamers registered to play and continue to enjoy. As we progress from launch to ongoing development of the game, we are adjusting our staffing levels to deliver new content and improved features. RIFT, and our other titles in development, were unaffected by these changes. We are very much looking forward to the free to play release of RIFT and are excited by the other new titles currently in development.” – Nathan Richardsson

My heart goes out to all the members of the Trion layoffs and I hope that they are able to find themselves work in the current economy. It is never a happy day to hear about these happenings in the gaming industry as it affects everyone.

The question in many gamer minds today is what will be happening with Defiance if a majority of its studio was involved in the Trion layoffs. Will they scheduled DLC continue and will it be as big as originally planned?

I might be wrong, but the end "I believe" is not near.

heres an idea,
Maybe they are getting laid off because the game is junk,
Has more bugs in the gameplay then hellbugs ya kill.

Nothing like trying to complete pursuits and contracts, and the game glitches over and over, or doing the challenger race, and ooops, a hellbug is in front of you boom dead, or bits and pieces from other aspexts of gameplay, not part of the race, are now in your way,

1/10 races i have done there has not been anything in the way.

My question is,
Where do i get my money refunded? or due to the grossly inadequate in-game support, what am i going to get to stick with it? In game bonus? or rewards? Social media is a wonderful thing nowadays, and can make or break a game, look at Black Ops 2, didnt do as well as expected because of social media.

My problem is, I enjoy the game, i enjoy its and the televisions series storyline, however, the bugs and problems with the game, are starting to kill it for me.

The thread title says "actual facts" yet all I see is rumor and conjecture.

Its all over the web man, sure I dont believe all of it, but I saw this and had to post. The title is juat to hook people into reading thread.

But the thread is full of rumor and suggestion.

This is all a week old. There are a ton of threads covering this from top to bottom here in these forums. If you dig though them, there are some more specifics, and a few theories that make a reasonable amount of sense. But Trion hasn't copped to anything more than the layoffs have happened, and that reports as to the amount of people, and their treatment are exaggerated. And they never will, because they're not supposed to.

Rumor has it that Trion got rid of some people who just weren't up to the job and have lined up some of the best developers in the world to replace them. Reports are flying that this indicates Defiance is set to become the greatest game in history. :D

When a contractors contract ends, its not a layoff. Flame me if you want, but Im a software contractor, although mostly for industrial applications. Once a contract expires most arent renewed, but a few are extended for support. in my experience, its usually the senior level contracts that arent extended because its a lot cheaper to keep a few mid and junior level developers. usually theyre just as effective as the senior levels who are there for large design decisions and keeping things on schedule.

Isn't this old news? I don't understand why this was dredged up again like its some breaking news story or something? Honestly, if you dislike the game and company so much that you've got to sensationalize something like this that's a week old just to get people stirred up.......that's pretty sad. Things here are bad enough without people resorting to stupidity like this.
