It is based off the ego of the weapon, not the players ego.

The key part of this is if i have a lvl 20 skill and i have a weapon thats maxed out. i should be able to reset that weapon and the weapon bonus for a new reroll. at my lvl of 3200 i have a orange i looked at resetting for 120k arksalvage. thats 120 purple weapons of salvage folks. 120 to reset weapon xp only. a orange weapon only costs 20k -50k script at most for a basic one.
even if its your favorite weapon in the whole world, it would be more effective to go buy a green weapon to lvl with if you need weapon xp that badly, and certainly more effective to just find a new gun, rather then blow the ark salvage. i see reports and these oh i have 1 million ark salvage, obviously you dont mod your weapons which can runs your 120k for 4 mods each.
the xp reset was a good try, but it is a useless modification without the weapon bonus being reset as well. 100% useless.
If you think about it logically, you want to reset the experience because you want to keep using the gun you have, stats and all. Having the weapon bonus reset means you will be losing part of what you may like about your gun. I don't think part of the original intent was to reroll your bonuses.
Besides, I read a while back that the bonus is generated when the gun is generated, and maxing the experience simply activates/reveals it.
The point though is why bother spending 200k salvage just to use the gun for another day... You might as well by the 1000 scrip weapon type at the vendor and move on. Using your salvage to get keys.
My thought was this: why can't it be an added option? X cost to reset weapon XP ONLY, Y cost to reset XP AND weapon bonus? Just have it be a checkbox-style option after you select "reset weapon mastery points".
Also, yes, the cost is prohibitive. It sucks. Terribly thought out, IMO.
Just my thoughts.
