Can we switch weapon types after selecting our characters class? Please someone help

After picking Survivalist, Machinist etc can we change our primary weapon type at some point?

Yes. There is no real class, they call them "origin". It's only a backstory, initial outfit and initial gear. You can change or, better, use everything you want ;)

Just equip a different weapon.

If you play on PC, use "L" key to open your loadout window, then select primary or secondary weapon and equip another from your inventory (if you found some weapons from mobs or by completing one of the starter missions).
It's as simple as that, just equip a weapon of any kind to use it ;)

Haven't seen any armories. Im a little lost in this game. All I see is a sniper rifle in my primary weapon list. You can't pick up enemy weapons.

Ahhh thank you for getting specific.

I see hardly any survivalists in the game, because their weapons loadout sucks. They have nothing that has really high DPS, so the second you run into enemies that don't go down from one sniper shot to the head you are just SOL.

I cant even remember what I chose. I pretty much swap weapons as I see fit and based on what I get dropped.

All the class thing does is you pick your starting point in the grid. Most of the bonuses seem kinda meh anyway so it doesn't really matter.

Survivalist just simply determines the weapon you start with and thats it. There is no "class" in the game. You're an ark hunter and you can use any weapon.... infact you'll want to use and switch out over time many different weapons once you rank level them so that you gain more experience towards gaining more EGO.
