Your point would have a better chance at being heard if you hadn't shot it in the foot with the term "shtako".
Actualy i was conflicted by it but after thinking on it i was actualy pleased. As it was done in a fairly respectful manner. and was used in a way that added intrigue and depth to the story.
So yea i thought it was pretty cool. Altho to be historicaly accurate it would have been more than likely the mohavae ,or yuma tribes. And not cherokee. possibly even the kamia.
Wich actualy thier has been drawings from both the mohavae and kamia tribes that favor astronaut suits .
did they say which tribe they are? I didn't think they've ever even confirmed or addressed their ethnicity (which I really, really liked), most back-story I have heard was the whole dog-food heir :P So far, I'm pleased with it, I like the diversity when they don't force the whole "they're native, so they must have magic powers" BS. I hope they don't end up going that route.
i agree i was glad they didnt name the natives as most times in shows they just rattle names off and dont know what they talking about lol.
And the dog food heir is Graham Greene is from the six nations reservation in canada. oneida tribe ..But he activly supports the gathering of nations (a native american yearly event) and from what i understand is a real stand up guy.
The first nations have been an important ally to us since the American revolution, and they make up a relatively large percentage of the population both on and off of the reservations on the west coast, and northern ontario, quebec, and the territories east of alaska all the way up to the north pole. There've been a lot of protests lately from the local tribes in Toronto, and there's fear of a potentially armed uprising pretty soon over natural resources. Happened about 10-15 years ago in Quebec, don't know how well something like that would go over down south of the border
