clan boosters !
Not to come off as a db or anything like that, I was looking for a clan awhile back, but I didn't really dig the whole apply on our site & all that. I would like some more comraderie & whatnot, but I'm not going to fill out a job application to do so...lol. Rollin lone wolf has it's advantages as well.
It's not even that. It's because as clans get bigger its hard to go around everyday telling everyone individually hey we got this event this week or next. So the website so a good way for people just to check once a week at least and see ok I'm free that day ill join the event. And I don't know what website you talking about because most clan sites I have seen are just basic put email, whatever name you want and that's it and you can add any other basic info you want.
None. Maybe clan boost, a couple of pusuits based around clan participation, but that's not a huge amount. It could be better but the chat is awful and there's pretty much no-one on a headset or anyone with a chatpad.
^ Sorry if I was misleading in my post. What I'm trying to say is that, how I envisioned what I was looking for (disclaimer: not saying this is how it should be or anything like that) , was a smaller group of players where I didn't have to pick a screen name or get on forums, because I can do that here. I'm not trying to be hateful or attack anybody, but I really don't see the point of a "clan" having hundreds of members, because you can't in all reality build bonds with everyone in the clan, which again, in my opinion defeats my purpose of joining the clan.
You get to farm San Quentin in all of it's mundane repetition....with a partner.
A partner who likely doesn't understand anything you say or simply has no interest in talking to you.
So fill out a clan application and get started today!
I have a clan in COD, we are around 80 and i only play with 10 to 15 of them. But those 15 play with the others. I play in certain times of day and others in different times, etc, that`s what makes a clan.
It`s good to have people you know to play with, sometimes it`s not all about the game.
I think a better question is what does defiance do to enhance clan play.
I too am wondering what the point is. I have to put some stupid clan name in my name that I don't even like, and listen to people with crap quality mics (always is somebody that has one), or honestly most of them have no keyboard or mic at all, and why? Why can't I just randomly quest with people? Well actually I can answer that last one myself. It's because there's no way to talk to a large amount of people at once. There is no looking for group. There is no system for co-op other than the co-op specific maps. I want to do various side quests with other players, why does this game not support that?
i cant really see a purpose to it either, i did start my own though just purely to stop ppl inviting me to join theirs as it was getting tedious
A Clan isn’t for everybody. It can be helpful for coop in any situation, but you can also get help from unknowns on site. There are other times when players want to play solo, do their own thing, no strings attached. Clans are better for those players who look for a more social interaction with the game and players. Playing with friends or people you know is always fun and it will extend the life of the game for the group.
Even when there might be no real advantages for regular PVE except for the social side, I assure you there are for PVP. Competitive games here are mostly simple run and shoot (fun indeed) but a well articulated group communicating and acting together will always have an advantage over a group of lone wolves running around on their own.
the benefit of being in a clan...
on defiance - I have about 12 guys in my clan. as we play the game, we each discover new things and share them with each other. when a clan member needs an extra 5k scrip cuz he found a challenger on special and hes short, one of us can give it to him. if im doing my missions, and a clan mate is doing his, we can still chat through clan chat for company and turn of area chat altogether. we trade purples and oranges to get pursuits for equipping them all, we have reached the majority of the friend and clan pursuits by being on at the same time and by doing co-op and pvp together.
a clan in general - I have run my own clan since 2007. we have about 60 guys n girls, and I have gotten to know each one personally. I have traveled to meet a few of them. the clan will be 6 years old in November, and the average length of membership in my clan right now is 3 years and 7 months. why do I have a professional site? because you wouldn't buy a fancy meal out of a horse trailer, or new clothes out of a tool shed, so why would you join a clan with a sub par free forum for a site? our forums serve as a place to lay out clan expectations, to organize events on all the games we play, and a place to hold our monthly contests for games, dlc, and more. its were we organize inter-clan tournaments, its a place were we can find friends to help us with everyday problems. also, when any game grows old, or its replacement comes along, I already have a full group of trusted teammates to play with instead of starting over trying to find that good group of people to join me. we all have unique tastes in games too, which has led me to the discovery of some great titles I would have never looked at twice on my own.
IMHO sometimes that little bit of extra effort in the beginning is well worth it 2,3, or 4 years down the road when you still wear the same tags, play with the same guys, and look forward not to firing up your game to play, but to see whos online with you that night.
The game lacks group content, apart from a few coop maps and pvp, there is very little you need more than 2 people to do. Clans work best when you have raids of 10 or more people together coordinating their actions, then you have something to aim for. The menu system and chat in this game makes even knowing if anyone is online a pain. Too many menus..
Clans outside of defiance are great ways to keep in touch with people and see what they playing or play with them. In some games they are the only way to get maximum progression.
