Players cursing online is somewhat more common than people cursing in real life.

That said, when your EGO is telling you over and over that the skitterlings are creating weak points and other players are telling you to stop, if you're still shooting them, then yeah, you are a dumba__. If you want people to stop pointing that out, you need to stop acting like one.

Just connect the dots, it is not difficult. Generally everywhere else you should do what you please, but arkfalls are "supposed" to be a team effort, so you should be a team player. c:

There's no place for 'cooperation' here in a co-op game. What's the matter?

It just completely sucks that none of my crap weapons they can use at a low EGO rating. I think it really diminishes the help and "co-op" of the game because im all for just giving some stuff to newbs to help out and make them feel good about the players of the game.

However for shtakos and giggles I will shoot a random explosive barrel while a stranger is near it. Doesn't matter who or what they are and if they're part of my group or not. Hell even my consistent friends aren't immune. Ask Grit. But he will also give it back. it keeps my senses sharp ;)

The Commander/Sgt/General barking orders just pushes me more towards that chaotic side. I got 50k kills to achieve and now only a couple hundred off all my ark hunting pursuits. I WILL go for the easy repeated kill.

Ok I admit it... I do the same thing where explosive barrels are concerned.

To anyone who MAY have gotten downed at the Diablo Oil Refinery... Sry bout that.

To the OP... sorry you got the reaction that you did from players at the Arkfall, but you should realize that it was probably out of frustration due to the overwhelming percentage of players who troll the skitterlings preventing alot of players from destroying the crystal the intended way.It was less a personal attack than you think.

Me, myself personally gave up on the whole skitterling -bite crystal-shoot crystal and jes shoot anything that moves, because I know it wont be long before the dip-sh#^ caravan rolls in and starts trolling out lobbers all around the crystal leaving no enimies to shoot and no weak spot on the crystal.

See, I don't completely understand that logic.
I'm not trying to be rude, so bear with me.
The 'goal' isn't an 'ASAP' goal by default. It's just as valid to be a 'lifetime achievement', that comes as you play.
If you make the goals the point of any given day you miss other ones that would also have occurred naturally during routine game play.
The ultimate Goal is to kill NIM, And if I run there directly I miss all the little stuff along the way that I would have gotten had I walked from one end to the other gathering it all in as I went. So Then I go back and do nothing but rez's for my '100', missing the chance to shoot enemies. Then I do nothing but run around grabbing the recorders that I would have gotten while I was shooting enemies anyway.....
I'm NOT requiring you to believe that 'my' way is the best, but it's the one 'I' understand best.

Live long, and prosper, or words to that effect.

I think this is the problem and why some people lose their tempers and start with the insults. The game is telling you what needs to be done. It doesn't help when you have those anti-social trolls who kill the skitterlings because they "think they're the instrument of Karma".

There's a time and place for everything in MMO's and at a red crystal fall you need to co-operate. If you don't it increases the amount of time needed to destroy the crystal and move on. You don't gain anything killing the skitterlings except a lower score at the end as you aren't getting the 10x damage bonus from the skitterling bite.

Well there are several types of irony. If you want to be an intellectual stickler about it, you would have referred me to the definition of verbal irony, as it was neither dramatic nor situational.

    Finish the Fight
As you said..you are new to the game. BUT the game isn’t new. You are walking into a situation that is already very frustrating to many players. You cannot expect them to assume you are new and don’t know any better. Especially when your EGO repeatedly tells you about the skitterlings. That said people do tend to go overboard and get more upset than they should.

Yes, OP, as Yokai points out players can be at each others throats simply by game design. On the one hand you and everyone else has that one time goal of killing skitterlings, but on the other hand doing so makes the game harder and sometimes impossible for others to complete an Arkfall. Now what were they thinking in doing that, and why? I'd venture its the same reason people use abusive language, and I'd say that everything has its place and time but some people try to put square pegs in round holes too. This is a MMO of sorts, you'll have to learn to deal with people of all mental ages and manners, and some of them simply can't grow up. As long as you aren't trying to be a jerk then people will forgive perceived transgressions, and believe it - they can figure out the truth. Enjoy the game, and the people who make it possible.
