I'm such a girl? Well I hope so.. And if hard alcohol versus beer makes me girly, then yay me? Would it help to say I'm Canadian and have no qualms about holding my liquor?

No, it's the drink choice. As I stated, I drink both, because I love too much. Little girl.

EDIT: Yes, I meant "because I love too much".

I have no beer issues, just generally I'm alone in my choice as I prefer a pitcher of Guinness stout.. Since its garbage from a can and I'm not always drinking at a bar, as I prefer the close comfort of friends at their abodes, I usually find myself on the end of a vodka bottle, or tequila depending on how frisky the bunch is and what music is playing.

Let's hug. Guinness is my go-to, if a bar doesn't have one of the local brews (we have some GREAT breweries around here) and ALL I drink are dark beers, excepting certain occasions. I'm actually about to head out to this awesome little place now - wanna come? You'd be the only other person with me willing to get a heavy drink!

Oh my Lord, all I drink. The Apocalypse Brewing Company here has a great SUPER dark stout called The Sixth Seal. Amazing, and a badass name. Same guy owns a place called Pints Aplenty next door - NOTHING but hard-to-find brews. A whole shelf of nothing but local and rare stouts. You go in and pick and choose your own six-pack (or however much you want). Amazing stuff. So far I've had stuff like Dragons Milk, Toffee Nut, Scorned Wench, and so on and so forth, all unique. I could give you a whole list of things you'd most likely adore, had you the chance to do so.

i used to hate irish stouts...
and then i spent saint patricks day in dublin, and they proved to me that i've been drinking it wrong. apparently the way to do it is to mix a shot of a cordial in each pint. and yes, they were right... that is definitely the way god intended irish stouts to be served...
