Sleepy and dont wanna read..will tomorrow..\\but dark souls is so great...i loved it and got 1000 gamerscore for it...very few games do i feel the need to max out all acheivments...but this was one of them.
a dark, challenging, different game. rewarding as hell and very much worth thr buy imo...

Dark Souls is way easier than Demon Souls actually and it's more fun too. My only advice would be to try and play in soul form in the beginning or offline because last time I played it (half a year ago) there were so many people hunting newbs as dark phantoms (if you learn the game, you can beat it at soul level 15 or so and then start over with all the good stuff maxed out to kill countless new players wearing rags):)
I have played this game more than any other game I own next to Demons Souls. I have a 100% in game complete. If you are looking for builds it just comes down to playing around with what you want to do. So first let me say this. First play the game beat it a few times and get your trophies. Then when you want to start builds say for pvp or pve and you want to test out to see what’s best for you etc then unpatch the game and make the run for Ash Lake with the master key for the Dragon Torso and infinite soul’s glitch. Then you can start your count at whatever level you want to test armors weapons etc. I found peaking at level 2 I was able to beat the game as a pyro and grief low level players etc. It was hard to solo queling at that level for the upgraded pyro, but since u have infinite souls and can upgrade weapons etc It took a few tries and I pulled it off. Also I ran up a few to 100 for pvp trying faith, magic, combos etc. Look online for a darksouls build calculator. It will let you see what the DMG etc you can pull from certain builds on stats etc. I think in the end I did two toons. A faith and Magic build based at level 50 using the dark magic on one and faith with the darkmoon blade at max level on the other. Fun game on invades etc.
Managed to beat the giant red demon, I flipped a **** when they dragon came down though.

The only suggestion I can give is don't give up. You will die, it will be frustrating, just don't give up on it. Its worth it to stick it out. Some bosses will seem impossible to beat, but you can do it. Grinding is a great way to help you if your really stuck, and each boss has a strategy that works best. Demon/Dark Souls in a nutshell? Trial and Error.
so i tried this game out last night.... before i take it back to gamestop out of boredom, i'll ask here...
do the animations ever speed up? or is everything moving this slow the entire game...?

If you're talking about your character, your attack speed is based on the weapon you're using. Some are very slow, some are not so slow, and Ricard's Rapier hits six times in a second.
